Torch > Standing Torch?

No idea if this is just me but if I use the standing torch I get barely any lighting compared to the hand-held torch that your player can craft at level 1.

Possibly I'm doing something wrong or is it that standing torches are just completely useless for lighting?

Yeah they are more of a "mood" light, the handheld one is INSANE compared. Its probably intended tho, as the handheld needs to be better for walking around at night, but its too much for inside a house, i mena the thing lights up a giant house.

Standing torches may not emit much light, but they are very fuel efficient compared to, say, a campfire. Plus they keep you warm when its freezing out there.

I've read that the Standing torch is a bit rubbish, hence why I've never bothered to get the Engram in-game. Thought it'd be nice, in theory, to have a bunch of long-lasting torches around and inside my base, but I've avoided thus far due to the very reason you speak about.

Handheld torch is also better in those aspects. So yeah I agree with the OP there seems to be something wrong. Something for the devs to look into when they look more carefull in balancing stuff.
