Behemoth Gate - exact size?

We are building a new wall arround our base and we'ld like to calculate the required space for the gate.

If anyone knows if it requires normal- or fence-foundations, and how many next to each other... that'd be awesome to know!

A gate doesnt need foundations of any kind to be placed for the gate to go down but as to its size, if you have a regular dino gate and three walls on each side in a straight line, the Behemoth Gate is that big.

Be careful! If the outter gate is not flat you can't place the gate inside it. Our tribe tried on a slight hill 3 times and could not place behemoths on it.

Trook... Was the big gate 8 units wide? did that work?

i knocked out 7 walls (wide) to place the behemoth gateway.

12 walls to the top or to the bottom of the arch? and if its the top is it 1 or 2 less to the bottom of the arch?

There is no arch. It's just two big pylons with the gate in between.

The Metal Beh gate is 7 foundations long, (use fence foundations so the gate snaps to them)

The Stone Beh gate is 6 full foundations and 2 half foundations wide.

So both are essentially the same size but snap differently to each other.

looking at the green ghosted image before placing it, it looks like it has a big arch over the top

It's closer to 13 tiles high.

it's 11 high (if you want a roof on it and don't want a space above the gate). It's 6 wide (if you snap on the inside of the gateframe), but it's total width is more like 7½.. the last 1-1½ is however not gonna be obstructed if you have a wall or something.. it's just gonna be hidden inside the frame.
