Spinosaurus... over spawning and roaming too far from water??
So the new patch came through.. fantastic.. and good to see a spinosaurus within the first 5 minutes of logging in.

... and pretty much a spinosaurus every 1 minute later. Every 500m, sometimes 2 of them. Not just in the rivers and lakes... but wandering in the foothills surrounding the rivers. In the safer starter areas on the southern coast they also spawn frequently.

They run incredibly fast, overtaking every dino and hit like a Mack truck, scaling over 1-height walls and large stone natural barriers.

It seems what they have in speed and damage is countered by somewhat low health (at least from what I've seen).

... but I think the spawn probability and range of these supposedly aquatlic dinos is just way too much? There just isn't enough herbivores to support so many of these apex predators.

What do you guys think?

I played for several hours since the update and havent seen one :P

I live on the north shore and frequent "Monster Island"

I have three of them around my camp. I'm a bit inland so they don't bother me, but everything else around me gets eaten. I had to run past one to get back to my base.. luckily there was a Trike in the way, so I ran past it, Spino changed its mind and I sat it my hut crying and pooping myself until I got hungry.

Then I ate meat.

The end.

bump this ♥♥♥♥. no dinos alive when packs of 4-5 roam islands and clear everything out.
Keyse 2015 年 6 月 13 日 上午 12:51
We have four around our camp as well, and fairly close too. Seems like every time we turn around there's another one blocking the way and eating all of the dinosaurs in the area. Before long there won't be anything left to hunt and our poor little cliffside home will be next on the menu. D:

Yup same here, Im on west spawn 1 little island where nothing at all spawns but herbies....after patch there are about 5 spinos. They just kill everything they see and they are the only things left. They REALLLLLLY need to turn down there spawn and make them alot more rare. My trike is level 26 and i can 4 shot a level 10 spino so its not a huge deal but still. Sucks to tame anything else.
Vulme 2015 年 6 月 13 日 上午 12:59
I agree 100%.

Log in, killed by Spino exactly as the game loads
Respawn, see 2 Spino before I even move - Killed by Spino
Respawn, go over a slight mound, 2 Spino the other side - Killed by Megalodon
Respawn, see 2 Spino before I even move - Manage to run to where base used to be - No base there, just a Spino.

Spino spawn rate is an absolute joke. Their speed is an even bigger joke.

i posted about this 5 minutes after the update went live lmao

I have a lake right by my base...these things keep spawning and trying to eat through my base. A grueling battle trying to kill them. Eating all my tribe's dinos and they are persistant. Some how it can sniff out all my unconcious tribe memeber and it just keep wrecking my base until it gets the center where they are. Not only that but it's stomping around EVERYWHERE. The aggro radius on this isn't bad but it's so random because it just tears ass all over the place.
leftharted 2015 年 6 月 13 日 上午 1:29
Agreed.

In my local server for me and my friends they are too common in the newbie areas. We recently restarted, so they are really hard to deal with.

Imo, should not be spawning so close to newbie coasts. Otherwise, understandable

i think they spawn way too damn much.

in one rendered screen i saw FIVE of the damn things just destroying everything that moved on the river
leftharted 2015 年 6 月 13 日 上午 1:36
Yea, I have my server on hardest setting, and they are a passion to deal with (early game)

My base on a community server is now a death trap. I thought the mass carno's where bad enough.
Saint 2015 年 6 月 13 日 上午 1:39
Bump, I agree I spawned in some how under the foundations of my base, but after getting out found my base surrounded by 5-6 spinos with no other dinos which I assume had all been eaten.
CamelKing86 2015 年 6 月 13 日 上午 1:42
My wife and I have a tribe on the southern islet, these things now spawn in what was once a safe hunting area.
Calruin 2015 年 6 月 13 日 上午 1:43
*knock on wood*, i've only seen one in the 4ish hours i've played tonight. He was a ways down the river.. i saw him.. and said.. "I don't need to go that way after all", and went back to my base (I was out looking to start a new base) Now i'm very worried. I've got ocean behind me, and a river on each side... I'm guessing only a matter of time before they start spawning in..
