Shot a bronto with 30 tranq and didn't drop it.
Sarco is about the same as Carno

The level of the dino also matters. The higher the level, the higher its torpor pool. I had to put 5-6 in a level 34 raptor.

Are these inclusive of the torpor changes introduced to the dino's in 172.3?
Dread910 Jun 12, 2015 @ 12:22pm
Yeah, bronto's are beefy ( yeah yeah I know, who would have thought ) A friend and myself put about 40-50 in one to bring it down. ( after it tail slapped him to death )

The two I'm talking about are after the change.

I dropped a level 9 bronto with 27, and a level 2 rex with 17 (pre-buff).

Tranq arrows do 43.5 Torpor per shot. Hope that information helps.

Pteranodons take 3 tranqs to take down.

If you know anybody who has a pet tamed they can look at its stats and tell you its max torpor.

I've dropped level 3 pteras with 2 tranqs, but you gotta wait for the second one to kick in... Just run like hell and follow it. Hopefully they don't fly over the water....

People who made tests have reported more or less 150 torpor per arrows, over about 10 seconds (the effect is not immediate). Seems to corroborate what I've experienced so far, but I haven't done any diligent tests of my own. For comparison a scorpion attack hits for about 90 torpor over 10 seconds. My lvl 1 T-Rex had 1400 torpor. Torpor increases linearly with levels, with different rates and base per dino type. If you try to knock out a lvl 30+ T-Rex, 60 arrows might not be enough.

I'm not sure yet, but head shots seem to make the 150 torpor build up much faster, on player characters at least. I basically 1 arrow knock out (instantly as well) lvl 40-50 tribe mates with headshots, with fortitude between 4 and 8. Might work differently in PvP.

What level was it? I've got my eye on a level 11 one, would I need 50ish as well?

Also can you fly pteradons (whatever the flying ones name is)?

Took me 34 arrows for a level 19 T-Rex. I probably could have done it with less if I had been a bit more patient in waiting for the torpor to take effect. maybe 25-30.

Not sure about arrows, but scorps are best for knocking things out. Get any scorp, level health only and you can take down any level, any dino, by stinging it 2-3 times, running around for 10 sec or so, then repeating it.

Scorps are extremely tough so there's a lot less risk of dying, and you only need to spend 5-10 arrows to knock one out. After that, you can knock anything out.
