Server is not currently playing on any game server

Get this when I try to join servers that are up. I cant see them in the server list either but my friends are on.

I'm having this error with a server I am trying to run off a Dedicated box. Any help would be great!

Same issue here. It's very frustrating because I recently purchased a dedicated ARK server, and now I can't play on it. All of my friends can, but I cannot. It's also more upsetting because this issue piggy-backed off of another issue, which took a day to figure out how to fix.

Try adding it through the Steam browser favorites instead of in-game. That did it for us.

Same issue, shows no servers at all. I verified my game using Steam Validate Install shows I was missing 2 files after the recent content patch - shows no additional update required and game is current version. I just went through a big update and after I downloaded up the update, likely to 182, but the validate shows 2 files i need to download, i downloaded them, ran the validate again and shows 100% up to date. Current Content Build: 681684 and still showing no servers available.

I have constantly had this problem. Add the server through the "steam servers" section, then just keep hitting "refresh" in ARK server list. After about 20 times your server might show. All I can think is that the game does not always run a full seach of all servers, so it takes a couple try's to get through them all and actually find the one you are looking for.

That issue only arrives when the games not updated. Once the game is updated then your servers show but at the moment, i cannot find any servers and my games updated. IDK what the issue is. Other than a reinstall... but the game runs and its a verified install.

My fault, should've been more specific. I have it added through the steam server browser, and have verified my steam cache. For about a day, I was not able to connect using the steam browser due to the fact that the "server was not responding" even though I was talking to someone playing on the server. I fixed that, however, by changing the port from 27015 to 27016 (for some reason, that fixes it.) The issue now is that when I try to join, it says "Server _______ is not currently playing on any game server" I added in the underscores. That wasn't there, but there is a big gap, so that's why I put the underscore there.

For some reason I can see only 4 official servers in game: 260,261,262,263. Using steam server option i see ALL of them but they are all NOT RESPONDING. That's beyond my understanding cause I was playing for about a week and that happenend to me only a few times and I thought it was patch related issue but now I can't get to my server (official 225) for 2 days already! I tried reinstalling the game, steam, deleting anivirus, disabling firewall, resetting router - nothing helped... I've never experienced anything liked this in my entire life

I know this is old-ish post.. but I found this on google as one of on top. So here is my fix::

I just had same problem with my friend. We migrated our server to different PC. Upon launching the game we both get this error: "Server is not currently playing on any game server".
All ports are forwarded, firewall unblocked. All from book. Me playing on different place, (remote), he playing locally, (server and game PC same local network).

We both had same error. So here is my problem and fix.
- PROBLEM: Added server by its domain name, steam found it, successfully added to favorite servers. all lookin` good. Try to join - error.
- FIX: removed server from favorites, added it by its IP address and port e.g. xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:27015 - success! We can now join server.

Why? I do not know. Maybe steam has broken DNS, it can`t resolve server by domain. IDK.
