Who is Studio Wildcard?
The company did not appear to exist before this game.
I can not find any: corperation address, phone number, employee records, etc at all online.

The company website only has a single item(that is a link to ARK: Survival Evolved's site: playark.com)

playark.com, registratrar is GODADDY.COM, and when looking closer at a whois sheet:

https://who.godaddy.com/whoisstd.aspx?domain=playark.com&prog_id=GoDaddy&k=EtGMyRqJSGtFaHd%20bR8ITCeWp01I3an54j0ksxK18gqvKIsEHKBsE9AF2d2AoJwE

You see the registrant as a proxy domain company.

"Registrant Name: Registration Private
Registrant Organization: Domains By Proxy, LLC
Registrant Street: DomainsByProxy.com
Registrant Street: 14747 N Northsight Blvd Suite 111, PMB 309"

The trail ends there are no records can be obtained past DomainsByProxy.com (They're very serious about client privacy apparently).

Just about every game these days is registered under the publisher name, (If you go to the whois for battlefield, you'll see Electronic Arts. Not a proxy.)

The only contact to their company is a mailto redirect on the game's website, linking as: mailto:jobs@studiowildcard.com

Am I only person who finds it bothering that the game is being both produced and published at a fairly high price(as it's being developed for linux, mac, PC, & both Xbox one & PS4), but a ghost company?

*TO CLARIFY EDIT:* I don't mean high price as in price of purchase, but high price in developement of the game.

There is no wiki page, I can't find it publically traded anywhere. I can't find -anything- on it besides a few "company profile" pages that are missing everything(phone, address, etc) but the company's name.

And to those who may point out I don't own the game, you're right. and this is the #1 reason why.

A company that's doing everything possible to keep itself hidden... isn't exactly a good thing, as there is no valid, good reason for them to not want to build up a brand name.

At release they will state that it`s a division of Electronic Arts and that they tried to keep it as secret as possible to get some customers back with a good game (=

Lol, if EA claims this game, I'd get a refund (if I could) so I could personally deliver the money to the developers. They're doing an excellent job and deserve every penny I've spent on this game! It's too bad Steam takes such a large cut, but there's no other way to buy it, that I'm aware of. If they had other ways to further support the developers, I would, even though it doesn't appear they really need more with all these contests and giveaways. Regardless, I'd still support them, cause the $24 I spent initially was far from fair for the number of hours of entertainment I've already gotten.

Same here though the only thing I'm good at is writing and making ♥♥♥♥ up. :)
there is many jobs that are looking for creative people to write quests, and events. This can make or break a game without the right ideas behind them. Programming is just making it work.

So if your good at writing and very creative about it, look further into it. You might be supprised.

Also you can learn the guts now with Ue4 since its free.

I've tried to learn a programing language for years. I just can't get my head around it.

Game studio was founded for the purpose of developing this game. That is not uncommon at all, studios have to have their first game. Facepunch for example, or Mojang as an extreme example. They already said the company was founded October last year when they decided to make this game. This game is only produced at a high price because they got so many sales from Early Access. Look at Star Citizen. a $2 Million project now is over $100 Million project.

With Jesse's background maybe we'll see Microsoft publish and make it an XB1 exclusive. It is heading to Game Preview in the next few months and they could use a game like this. I guess that would lose them money due to the 10m lead Sony has in sales but it would be nice.

That would suck. PS4 FTW.

It would suck but only because they would miss out on sales. Don't have a PS4 yet but am planning on it. Forza got me to buy an XB1 first.
ImaginationToForm 3 września 2015 o 22:26
Yes, would suck. I'm not into buying consoles.

I suppose I should add some of my short stories and hand sketches into my portfolio, then? I learned how to program in C++ and VBA. I'm even learning ladder logic lately.

They might be a small company that's a tad secretive about their details, but they're doing a hell of a lot better than most AAA game companies... Send Wildcard an email, they get right back to you... I sent SEGA an email that requires a simple yes or no answer (It's about their copyright policies and using their footage for something, so kinda important), they still haven't come back to me... Also, do you see AAA company that's so active within the community? I mean, their PR manager is on Steam and actually talks to people... Just saying...

Good to see a response to this thread. :)

Hi Jesse & The Right Hand , keep up the good job and the bugs to a minimum!
