Guide: How to survive PvP when playing alone.
I've been soloing on PvP and I must say I love it. Here is what I've learned:

1. Learn to use Notes and Wooden Signs, they are your gate to sociability, specially with neighbors (you leave messages at their door fronts).

2. Stealth is King. Build a base in the middle of the jungle, far away enough from rivers and oceans, but you have to be able to get there in 1 or 2 minutes tops for water refills. DO NOT chop down trees or take out rocks in a 75 meter radius around your base (they will not respawn). Make a base that is hidden by rocks, and visually unappealing to get to (cliffs for example, never next to a point of interest). Make a small base of no more than 3 or 4 foundations. No larger than your environment camouflage will allow without being detected. The key is you cannot go toe-to-toe with Tribes, so your real defense is them never finding you. Never build more than one story high.

3. Cloth armor is the hidden gem of armors. It is the only armor that helps against heat, while all others actually are worse than being naked. It helps a little against cold, only surpassed by hide. Chitin and Advanced have negative values and are only useful for combat. So learn Cloth Armor, you will always use it, and every time you die you can just make one really quick. DO NOT learn the more advanced armors, you will need the points for other stuff, and you can get them with drops. Learn all tiered buildings, but only foundations, walls, door/door frame and ceilings. Do not learn Large storage boxes, only first-tier wooden boxes, because those are the ones that fit with your one-story-high base. Getting a wood and eventually metal base is a piece of cake.

4. Drops are your life, and SUPER important to you. Drops will give you stuff which you cannot build, such as the other more advanced armors or blueprints. Every blueprint is worth its weight in gold, because that means you don't have to learn the engram for that particular item. They will also provide other weird stuff you won't be getting anywhere else. Regarding Saddles, you cannot have them all, in fact you should only get some very important ones. Lvl 15.- Raptor. Its a game changer. You move fast and are deadly and small; also its fantastic for hunting supply drops, which is key for solo, specially the lvl 15 and 25 drops (green and blue), which will provide you with your first set of metal tools and lance. Pteranodon.- Your new way of finding drops, for purple, yellow and red drops. Optional: Megalodon.- I am currently trying the outmost stealth by building a tiny 2-foundation base on the sea. Taming a Megalodon will open up the most unexplored part of the map (and therefore least risky to hostile Tribes). I am currently building the metal base. The thing is you actually need very few metal pieces because the base is so small. (I've gotten 4 full squares of metal base from blue drops as well).

5. Great Items. Water bottle, bow, narcotics, stimulants, tranq arrows, lance, meal tools, all three tiers of base buildings (just the 5 pieces each), those 2/3 saddles mentioned above, beds, sleeping bags, torches, cloth armor (as mentioned above), wooden boxes. I can't recall anymore at this time.

6. Caves. They are all doable. Be smart and prepare for each individual cave. Prepare for the cold one with torches, hide armor, tons of cooked meat. Move fast and never stop. For the lava caves, bring cloth, 4 full water bottles. For enemy parts, lance and bow are your best friend, be thorough and patient, one mob at a time and then run to the entrance if necessary.

7.- Brood Mother.- not there yet!

GG fellow brave souls. The satisfaction is unrivaled compared to doing everything with a group. You truly feel like the King of the Island, and whats best, almost no one knows you even exist! You are this hardcore Navy Seal behind enemy lines all by yourself. If you ever get tired though, just join a Tribe (weak!).

i love your words :D , brillant guide my good sir ? wat about routing water pipes to your hidden base or alteast close to it ?

Pipes in general are not good because they are highly visible. Thx man! I hope you have fun.

Number 1 don't make your presence known unless they discover you. Then leave signs. If you leave signs first they may just hunt for your home sooner.

Number 2 is bad advice. It has to be at least 2 story home. The first floor is your maze.

They should really allow us to store the rain for later :/

@Wasting Sanity

Haha. The thing is the are no rocks I've found so far that are tall enough to camouflage a 2-story base.

You have 2 number 2!

Everyone will run into the same problem I have. People will clear cut everything away from your home once discovered.

They haven't found me! Try the North eastern part of the island, above the endless cliffs to the ocean. Its a very thick jungle with virtually no access.

water tank works great in a pinch

I will have a look. I am in the process of considering relocating. In the mean time my maze is 2 stories tall and my building is become 4 stories.
