Metal vs Stone Irrigation Pipes
What's the advantage of making them out of metal?

it rains so often pipe are not needed at all anywhere. place a small pot fertilize and thats it. it will maintain water after it rains first time.

That doesn't really answer my question though :) pipes aren't necessary for farming, no, but I might want water to my base for waterskin refilling etc.

But my question remains: What is the difference between metal and stone pipes besides the cost?

I suspect the only difference is that metal pipes are harder to break on pvp servers.

Stone pipes are very easy to break with metal tools and (maybe, not tested) dinos. Metal pipes are pretty much invincible to all but (expensive) explosives.

Not sure about the metal pipes, but I have to replace the stone pipes at our place, on a regular basis, when out T-Rex goes nuts killing other dino intruders.

Well beasts wont be able to break them unlike the stone ones
