These are passive tames. You can't tame everything by knocking it out. Some dinos you have to passivly tame:
1.) put their favorite fod in the 0 slot.
2.) Sneak up on them from behind (for some you need bug repellant so they won't aggro on you)
3.) If they are not fighting/eating/etc. you should get a prompt for pressing "E" to feed them.
4.) Wait for them to get hungry again.
---> repeat until tamed.
Dinos that you need to tame that way include: Lystrosaurus, Gigantopithecus, Mantis, Vultures, Arthropleura, Ichtiosaurus... (probabl forgot about a few.)
Well, now you know its passive and to passive tame it. Lesson learned. Also, its not hard to passive tame stuff in a trap. Gotta git gud man.
I don't think resurrecting a 4 year old post was nessecary for a rant though.
Agreed, but at least some of the new to the game players are finally using the forum search function. Too bad Steam does not delete posts over a year old.
Deleting wouldn't be good, auto locking after a few month would be nice.
The info's would be still there but the necroing would stop.
