Mate Boost. What is it?
So I've had an epic solo adventure thus far.

Finally got smart and had my caravan carry pre build fence foundations, with walls and a door way; so that I can efficiently and quickly setup raptor traps in the wild. I set out, and got 3 low level raptors. Could have had 6, but I skipped on the higher level ones; I want to mold them into killing machines.

Anyways, I have two males, and one female; and I noticed all three are mate boosted. I managed to solo tame a pair of mate boosted Trikes a few days ago too.

So, what exactly does the mate boost do? What does it effect? Anything currently? Or does it mean nothing, and will eventually lead to breeding?

It basically makes the boosted dinos have better stats as long as they are boosted, nothing else for now.

We had one male dilo and 4 females when within range they were all boosted, happy male! ;)

It's a damage and hp boost, as far as I can tell. It's supposed to increase 'aggressiveness' in wild critters (probably larger attack radius). They'll also attack as a group when engaged.

How much of an hp and damage boost does it give? I tried separating them and didn't see much any difference in there hp and damage... if there was a difference, it was minimal. Certainly not double (which would be overpowered anyways. ..)

If it was Double then it would be ridiculous to ever own a pet that Isn't mate boosted. This isn't necessarily game breaking, but it shouldn't be such an advantage that it is pretty much required, Ehh?

At any rate, I assume it'll change before to long, too include/incorporate breeding

How you make a trap ? Its a unlock or you just knock one raptor and box it?

It means that there's a same species around and they will both react to what you do to one. For example if there are three trikes and they're mate boosted and you attack one they will all go aggressive on you whereas if they're further away and not mate-boosted they won't care.

It's nothing to do with stats or "boost" lol. It's just that those mate-boosted dinos will protect eachother.

I checked stats and told the male to stay and dragged the female out of range. stats didnt move after buff disappeared. Think its bugged.

No idea if stats are buffed or not.
Of course we all know mate boosted wild ones are guranteed to group attack if you hit
a mate.
I do know my tamed mate boosted critters can lay eggs. Yum. You can harvest those
without fear.
Unless a nearby wild DODO is near your coupe. I have had wild dodos come
into my camp shortly after I have harvested a tamed dodo's egg and
try to ♥♥♥♥♥ slap me. Hilarity ensues.

I have to remember that if I ever get a pair of Trex's or Bronto's laying eggs. Scan the horizon first. lol.

(edit, I had to correct odd mispelling above of Dodo in a couple spots, I typed dildos for
some reason. I did this unconsiously, herp)

It does increase the stats. You just dont see it change in the UI.

Best way to test it is to go to single player turn on cheats and summon some dino's.

The mate boosted ones will have much higher HP and Torpor (tested on reddit by repeatedly hitting them to see how much punishment they could absorb)

It makes the egg/dino stronger/better level when born

Edit: i realized this was a necro.

Gravity this post is from 2015... But still I'm leaving my post here because all of these incorrect answers.

Mate boost does 3 things. First it increases the chance for your tamed females to lay eggs. Secondly, it increases damage and resistance (like the imprint brofist buff), mate boosted dinos will do more and take less damage (not get more stats/hp). Last, they'll take reduced torpor damage, so it's harder to knock out a dino that is mate boosted.

I realize this post was from a while back, but to add a definitive answer, it gives a roughly 30% boost to some of your dinos stats.

They will not appear any higher or lower in their UI but the effect can be observed.

I have a lvl 160 carnotaur, alone he hits for 82 damage per. With a mate he hits for 110 per hit.

The level of the mate is irrelevant (she is less than half his level) as is their actual ability to mate. One or both can be spayed/neutered.
