TAMING HELP - RAPTOR

so iv'e been remote using narcoberries when taming, but im finding it difficult to tame trike/parasaur things like that .. ive tamed a few dilo's for pvp and dino hunting etc easy peasy .. but i want a raptor mount till i can get the ptero & mount, im building a 3rd base then working towards the mount .. how much does a raptor take to tame ? 1 full stack of meat 2 stacks, less ?

also does narcotics have the same drawbacks as just using narcoberries .. is it more efficient to use narcotics .. i.e. you dont lose as much taming efficiency.

i dont have tranq arrows yet as im LVL 16 .. so im thinking a slingshot will do the job easy enough ?

and lastly are raptors found closer to obelisks things like that ?
i wouldve thought they would spawn where i am since ive built inland but im yet to see one ..

I did it on a full stack of meat and around 40ish narcoberries. Its about the same as a parasaur

Narcotics are much more efficient. For a raptor if you don't have access to prime meat, it's best to place two stacks of raw meat. If you have access to Dodo eggs the taming will go faster, same with having prime meat.

You need to have narcotics its the most effective. make sure you dose the raptor evertime the torpidity is at 150 it all depends on what level of raptor you have but at least have 18 on you. for meat 60 should do the job. hope this helped. HollowPoint Tribe FTW!

it truly depends on how u tame. i let the food run low using narco berries to keep unconcious, for they have a less taming efficieny drop with them and narcotiics if its getting close to half awake. 2 stacks of meat do me find. also slingshot brings down taming efficency as well as punching at a far higher rate then tranq arrows. happy hunting.

1. knock out raptor
2. starve quickly by feeding it random berry (not narco or stim) keep it knocked out by narco when needed
3 when it gets low on food (50/150) put meat in its inventory keep it knocked out
4 wait about 5 min and done.

any narcoberry useage after putting meat on the raptor will drop the effectivenes

well ive respawned and my area is carnos everywhere and raptors are here too so soon i might have tamed my mount :D just gotta make some narcotic ... do stegos give lots of meat ? and are the bows enough to take them out while kiting sufficiently

Go after the pig things (I keep forgetting their name, it's the first thing you can unlock a saddle for). They drop 20+ meat (each!) consistently, so if you can bring down two of those you can basically tame anything smaller than a T-Rex so long as you have the narcos to keep it under.

ok so just an update ive got my third base built and am looking pretty good nobody around for atleast 10min walk from my base - as its quite far from shoreline .. and if ones found im sure they wont find all three .. so base check :D .. level 19 now getting towards 20 .. from what i understand tranq arrows are unlocked at this level right ? .. looking forward to getting my raptor tamed :D .. done some heavy duty trike farming for my hide and meat tamed a few extra dilos for protection ;) .. now got my raptor saddle crafted plenty of narcotic so now eagerly awaiting the tranq arrow to get that beatch raptor tamed ..

also what level does the ptera saddle unlock ?
do tranq arrows work on other players in pvp ? im guessing they would ..
how many arrows to knock someone out ?
blood transfusion whats the use of this skill ? whats the benefit ?

had some fun on the shoreline earlier tonight also 2 fullas with a three storey base running irrigation pipes to it etc directly on the shoreline o.O .. now it may be just me but i think this is incredibly stupid and saying hey look at me and they are just asking to be destroyed/raided/griefed, which is why i enjoyed playing the silent unseen predator on these fools with my bow XD they were not impressed lol .. bare in mind they were level 20 and up .. so not noobies .. but really failed at fighting back even 2v1 lol

my lv 27 raptor took around 5 stacks of meat and a few prime meat, the taming effectiveness started at 32% and went down fairly fast which is why it took so much food.

a level 4 took me about 30 meats and 15 narcs. They say use narcs on carnivors and berrys on herbs. only took about 30 mins

got around 60 narcs sitting there when i need to tame some dinos now .. tamed a trike to farm berries wood etc .. but he died :( dc'd and reconnected to gan ambushing raptor so it was a quick run and whistle to get my dilos onto it .. saved my can lol .. so now when i hop back on just grab the dilos go hunt my 2-3 stacks of meat .. smack a raptor in the butt with a few tranq arrows and GG cant wait .. hes gonna be the main mount .. then onto getting a trike for farming again .. huhh now just need some tribe members :D

Raptors are easy as long as you can knock them out.

You want ~2 stacks of raw meat and ~20 narcotics for a low level raptor. Don't tame higher level ones, you're missing out on the training benefits. Throw them all in, keep the raptor above half torpor, and easy-peesy, you've got yourself an unnerving mount that will freak you out as it runs up to you.
