Though if the ARK Remaster is good I would wait for gameplay and then decide to buy it
or not since it seems a way better game if they accomplish what they are promising.
Official servers that are being shutdown are considered a trash heap anyway.
A good unnoficial server(or hosting your own) was always the better option.
As for the current salt explosion due to skyrim style re-release, you can ignore it.
And for years after that, unfortunately.
IMHO the best game play is single player or your own private play with friends hosting your own.
1. DLC's have for a long time been part of the bundles. Nothing new here on that.
2. In August, all the official 1800ish servers will be retired and archived to the official website as downloadable files. However, there are currently 70,000+ unoffciail servers that are run by players and thus not being shut down by wildcard. The majority of the player base play on the unofficial servers.
"Soloing the Ark" series in his playlists.
That being said, don't ignore people being salty, because they have a valid reason to be salty.
Snail Games owns the title, and Snail Games is a sleazy chinese company with sleazy business practices. They own Wild Card. You can look up Snail Games on YouTube. They've been buying up survival games, early accessing them, and abandoning them. I think Ark has been a semi-exception because it appealed so well. The taming and riding of dinosaurs was such a unique thing at the time.
A lot of people are mad because they are being charged AGAIN to get the UE5 update, which is promising (but not known) to deliver fixes to all the things that they should have fixed the past 8 years.
Wild Card had posted that the UE5 upgrade would be free for those that have it, then posted that it would be bundled with the non-existent Ark 2 that has nothing but concept art, a game that many people weren't intending to buy, for $50 and the DLC another $40 to get all. Considering Snail Games track record, that's a red flag.
If you are determined to buy the DLC, and you haven't already invested heavily in the game like a lot of us, I would suggest waiting until August, if it even comes out then, for the UE5 version and buy that one.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend giving Snail Games any more money at all, but it's your wallet, so it's up to you to decided.
No where did I write that, but okay bud. You are a bit unhinged.
