Why would you reset your private game for that?
I'm not sure but think I've seen people having issues with single player having no respawning. Though I was sure I'd seen a patch note where they fixed it...
Edit: Found it! Apparently it should be fixed since patch 194, but not sure if that's just for resources harvested AFTER the patch or for all harvested resources...
Now the resources respawn correctly even in SP and I can confirm it works, are you sure you still ahve this problem?
THe only "barren patch" should be around your buildings. And that will be solved in the next patch in 2 ways : a setting to have regrowth much closer to buildings AND a new resource in the fertilizer bin to focre regrowth of trees in the area you select.
If you're unlucky and your island is bugged so the respawn of resources still doesn't work for you even with patch 194 or for whatever reason you still want to reset it you can actually keep your character, most of your dinos and some of your items, blueprints, saddles etc included.
In the settings (window with all the sliders and checkboxes when you launch your game) make sure tribute download is allowed and use the obelisks to transfer it all.
The items you have to put in the obelisk inventory and they'll be available at any obelist of any of your saves (even a new one).
BEWARE ! It's not the inventory where you put the trophys to summon the broodmother, you have to click on a button on the top left corner of that window (can't remember the name) and it'll open a new window with the option to upload your character and your dinos, in the same window there is also an inventory though it's not obvious as the slots are not apparent. Just drag and drop your items you'll see them appear in the middle of the window, as long as they are there they're always available at any obelisk.
Then in the same window use the option to upload the dinos you want to keep, (they have to be near the obelisk) then your character (maybe create a temp base there to stock all your stuff you want ot transfer ?).
Be careful ! all items on you or any of the dinos you upload will be lost, use the obelisk inventory to store them if you want to keep them.
Once this is done start a new game (I think you have to delete Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal for it to work, I would advise making a backup of that file BEFORE uploading your character and dino as it may not work properly items are fine as far as I've seen).
Instead of creating a character select the option to download your old character. try to spawn near the green obelisk (easier to access IMO) then go there and using the obelisk again download your dinos, all your items should be there too.
Hope this helps :)
Luckily Ive learnt to chop trees just enough without felling them.
Im not good at guessing what 75m is would 1 walking pace be 1 m at a wild guess?
Im going to test it soon, I'll cut a noticable tree down and see if it respawns.
Did you leave your base area for more than 2 ingame days for more than 500metres? Nothing will respawn when you are there. And dont forget: when you log out the worlds stops.
stick everything on your character you wish to keep.
just to ensure the world gets saved: press tab twice.
type: enablecheats somepassword
type: admincheat saveworld
press tab again to close console.
wait 5 minutes. (to give it ample time to save the world).
shut down game.
go into:
Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal
delete everything from that folder except .arkprofile files
restart game, launch your local game. map is rebuilt on restart, and your character should have all the items it had on it when you exited.
start playing again :D
Thank you this info is excellent,Ill try leaving for a while, if that doesnt work Ill try the reset thing.
