Flak Helmet vs Heavy Miner's Helmet
So far i've seen that people use the flak helmet a lot more than the heavy miner's helmet. If you have flak armor already and assault rifles I think you can afford the helmet. Other than the pricing why wouldn't you want it?

Light gives away your location.
Light isnt all that useful compared to a flashlight mounted on gun.
And I know you said other than, but that price... good god is it expensive to make and maintain.

It's a hassle, not to mention you can find ones that give more armor than the miners helmet that are much easier to repair.

The repair costs are very prohibitive. I was finding myself carrying a flak helmet AND a miners helmet and switching when in battle so I didn't scuff the light up. TOO EXPENSIVE to keep repairing, and it's always the first thing that gets banged up.

personally i use the miners helmet however depending on what situation say in verry bright areas like underwater caves i use cosmetic items such as hunter hat/ rex bone helm to disable the light since it's not toggable

if you just wanne have a miners helmet because of the light.... go get a pump shotgun with light attachment, it has the best light area illumination effect in case of portable light atm

Flak is cheaper to make and cheaper to maintain, and the light wont turn off..
