Question about stat allocation and good saber stats
Hi,

im planning to tame a "perfect" Sabertooth soon and i have a few questions. Im currently gathering Bronto eggs for a pure kibble tame.

How are stats distributed for wild dinos? As far as i know its random. I think i need to knock out a few until i find one with a good stat distribution which is worth to tame. But is the stat distribution completely random? Do wild sabers with high melee dmg/hp exist? Or are some stats capped or not distributed and others prefered for wild dinos?

What are good stats for a lvl 100+ wild saber? If you could tell me what is a good amount of hp/dmg/stamina i wouldnt have to compare 10 of them to find out the first i knocked out was the best ;-)

I hope you understand what im asking, english is not my native language. Feel free to ask if something is not clear.

Thanks for your answers, kor

Die Anzahl der Bonuslevel, die der Säbelzahn bekommt hängen auch von seinem eigenen Level ab. Je höher sein Level, desto mehr Bonuslevel bekommst du mit den Kibbles. Zähme also einen möglichst hohen.

Ein gespawnter +100 Säbelzahn hatte - ich weiß es nicht mehr genau - 375% Angriff und um knappe 2000HP. Im Singleplayer spawnen lassen wäre auch das, was ich dir empfehlen würde.

slomo 0.2 summon saber_character_bp_c forcetame
und dann nachschauen

Min/Maxing isn't as important as it used to be due to the taming changes made to the game. Base level determines the amount of stats that a dino recieves per level rather than taming efficiency which means that higher base level dino's will always have better stats than lower level dino's by the time they reach max level (usually much sooner than max).

You are correct that stats are random on wild dino's but I don't know enough about this to give you any good information. I've noticed from experience that the stats usually get rolled into either food or melee dmg, though I have heard of people finding dino's with considerably higher HP than others as well.

Stats varies a lot.
As a pure example, on my server, the lv cap is 67.

I tamed a 67 rex that had only 2k base hp buy 1k6 stamina
The other day, i tamed a 52 onr with also 2k health and 700stam
Then i saw a 42 rex, put it asleep, and it had 3k hp 650 stamina.

Finding one with good stats is indeed hard and varies a lot.
Most dino will have their base stat put into useless stat like oxygen, food, torpor and so on.
Plus, finding one that is good looking is even harder as most max lvl dino looks ugly D:

I don't know off hand what a level 100 sabers base stats are. But my trick is to see where the other points went in the bad sections. Example if it has 600 oxygen it's not the best prospect.
As far as what to level afterwards that's kind of your preference. I like all my mounts to be on the faster side with a bit of carrying capacity. My saber has a few points in weight to carry me my gear and all the chitin without getting bogged down. It has a few points in speed to get away from things it shouldn't fight. A little in stamina so I don't run out at a bad time. A lot in melee damage for farming and well killing things. And a boatload in health because of the alphas lurking around my neck of the woods.
My advice is prime tame a lower level one and see what stats you like it to be at then look for a big one with a similar base.

Thanks for the answers. spawn in some dinos in singleplayer seems to be a rly good idea.
@troa baron: I already have a lower level one and want a killing machine now with high melee dmg and hp. the other stats are secondary for this one
