Does anyone have tips on fence building on uneven terrain?
I tried to build a fence to pen in my Dino's The problem is that you can rarely find any flat land so the fence foundations end up half buried in the ground. This makes it really difficult to place the next one since you can't see where the last one ended. This is also a problem if you build on grass, the grass obscures the end of the foundation so you can't see where to place the next one, consequently it overlaps or leaves a gap.

As a result, I placed the foundations and went to place walls on them but many of my walls are now obstructed by the previous wall so there are huge gaps in my fence. Either that, or there's a gap where the foundation didn't snap to the end of the previous one. It seems even a 4 foot wide turtle can escape through a gap only a few inches wide since one of my turtles was seen wandering off into the distance.

Does anyone have a tutorial on fence building on uneven terrain? Something that can help others create a fence that doesn't have gaps in. The steps down due to uneven terrain are not a problem, the problem is doing it without having gaps or overlaps.

You can stack fence foundations so that on lower terrain they raise the starting height of the new wall. it can be a little awkward at times but the result is very good (nice even wall)

My grumpy 'I just got up ' tip is....

Complain as much as possible about this as it was something we brought up
nearly day one of this game, well not me but others, lots of them.

Nothing has been done yet to improve the currently ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up system.

Which is a shame as the fix is so bleeding obvious and I refuse to believe for
one second more than half a days code work to fix it for someone who can
code their way out of a paper sack.

As was suggested before by many others.. and me ,or variations of below....

Put end markers on each end of the foundation that rise up a few feet at least to indicate
where the foundation is and that will also serve as indicator of where wall alignment
issues could be prevented when having to do odd angles.
Make the damn foundation outline far more obvious at same time as the ghostly
green is obviously IDIOCY when having to deal with green ground cover.

I doubt they will fix soon, I"ve not heard a peep from them saying they will
fix up this aspect of the game.
I'm sure they will SOME day but not 'soon'.
IT seems Drake and crew are more hell bent getting crap out the door that is
not actually improving the game a damn bit, things like Alpha Dinos and bugs
that have bad animation that look as if done by a 12 year old
coding trainee with no talent, and just make people miserable.

Recent patch notes for past 2 cycles have left me unimpressed with direction
the leadership of that code team is going.

So, TLDR.
It isn't going to get fixed soon enough to make me happy.
Yah, I'm a grumpy guss when I just wake up. I need some tea.

Cool! Did not realise you could do that

Guess I'll have to get both my Trikes to transport half the forest back to my camp after I've had to cut it down to make all those foundations.

When I was building my fence I found that there are points where they snap together even if they are underground (something like at 90 and 45 degrees). Try looking at the end of one fence when placing another and you will see what I mean. Might have two high walls though so people can't jump in.

I always build one fence foundation and one wall. Place foundation, then wall on top right away. You'll never loose your foundation this way to the ground clutter. To place the next foundation you simply look at the edge of the wall piece until it snaps to where you want it to go.

Sounds like a fair plan. I have been standing on one foundation to lay the next so I keep a straight line. The problem wit that, as I said was, you often can't see the end to place the next one.
