Alpha Carno destroys metal
The Mega Carno can destroy metal structures, turrets, etc. pretty easily.
Tested in single player.
Is that normal ?

That would give us at least something to do, instead of the usual one shot killing anything that crawls until you get bored. Probably a bug thou.

and alpha trexes can't? interesting

but wild dinos don't really attack walls unless provoked, so it should walk right past a well walled off base even if it's made out of thach.

IRL large animals laugh at metal. Ever seen a bull inside a metal cage? they only stay in there because they are too stupid to try to get out, if they throw their weight against itthe metal starts to give way, i mean think about how much a rex must weigh, imagine it running at 10 miles an hour, now imagine that insane amount of momentum hitting a relatively thin metal wall :P.

No bulls can not bust through metal barred fences, nothing to do with them being stupid. They can bend the metal, but the mosts are solid cast iron concreted in. If they charged it full on the metal would give a small bit, then when the metal hit its max the bulls weight carrying forward would break its bones.

Large animals do NOT laugh at metal. Don't care how hard a male bull african elephant tries, he's not going to dent a panzer. He's badly hurt himself if he ran and tried to bull it over. Rex is a compounded problem. Hitting something organic has a LOT of give and rexes still did a LOT of damage to themselves attacking land saurapods. If it charged a reinforced concrete and steel wall it would kill itself. Stop believing Hollywood, research a little.

Rats can chew through concrete, not steel. Sharks can bend thin metal bars (the really large ones). Neither can do anything against a solid steel wall.

I only changed difficulty to 4.0. Everything else was default.

Rat teeth can exert 24,000 pounds per square inch. They can chew through wood, asbestos, brick, cinder blocks, four inch thick concrete, aluminum, even a 1/2-inch thick sheet of metal.

There is a reason divers need "shark proof steel cages". Sharks can bite through steel if its too thin or crack the steel bars.

A Megalondon with its bite strength would have little trouble crushing/cracking open a steel divers cage. I think their bite strength was around 2 tons of pressure? or something insane.

What rats can and can't eat isn't the issue, the issue is the potential for a random dino to completely level your metal base while you're asleep.
