Scorpion taming
Hi folks

is the only way to tame a scorpion to use spoiled meat? I have found that the taming effectiveness goes down quite badly ;/

i dont think so i would stare the scorpion till he is at 100 food so he will eat more food a once

starve

What I mean is, you cant use prime meat or kibbles?
Simpai_Lux Aug 7, 2015 @ 10:41am
i havent use kibble and spoiled prime meat and if you starve the animal they tame quicker so that the effectiveness doesnt go down then when the food is at about 100 give them there food choice like berries of raw prime meat the taming goes much faster

you can use kibble from what I've been told, not sure how accurate that is so might want to collect more information before you take my word for it. not sure which kind of kibble, perhaps it doesn't matter ?

No reason to starve a scorpion. They eat the same amount of food regardless and each time they eat the taming efficiency drops. People that use the starvation method use it so that you can dump a massive amount of prime meat into an animal at once so that it doesn't have time to spoil.

I think you can only use spiled meat it worked fine for me the scorpion i tamed gained like 7 levels

Scoprs have no prefered kibble. They dont like freash anything.. spoiled FTW

It's an absolute lie that the starvation method reduces their taming efficiency less than normal taming.

Just Spoiled meat its weird but i like stinging my tribe mates and knowking them out

Here,
ark.gamepedia.com/Kibble

There isn't a specific Kibble for the scorpions but from what the wiki says any kibble can be used but of course less effective than its (supposingly) favourite.

I tried prime meat and cooked prime meat so it doesn't work.

So you will always lose the same amount of taming effectiveness for a scorp as they only have one food they eat then?

It's the same thing.
The time it takes to starve it THEN feed and the time it takes for them to slowly make them hungry while eating is the same.

It only feels faster because it's eating all at once from that moment. If you start your timer at the very moment you knocked it out, it's the same time taken.

Taming Eff goes down the very same as well.

This is not true. The TE goes down everytime it eats depending on WHAT it eats. If it eats 100 times over an hour or 100 times over 2 minutes makes no difference, if it eats the same things it will have the same TE. Starving is only useful when you are using that time to go farm up primes or berries or build a wall around it, etc.

Yes, if you starve it the taming bar itself will go up faster because its eating faster, but the actual tame doesn't take any less time. You still spent time waiting for the food to go down.

As for the OP's question, from my testing spoiled meat is the best thing for it. I wish prime meat would spoil into a spoiled prime meat item, but eh, scorps tame fast anyway.

yea, efficiency isn't a over time drop, its a per eat (i think also per damage drop). If you feed a raptor only regular meat it will tame the same if you starve it and feed it all at once or just dump the meat on it and check on it every so often for 45 minutes. Starving is only useful because prime meat only last for like 6 minutes, so you run out with a rex, farm up 20 prime in 4 minutes, then dump them and they all get eaten before any spoil.
