I personally dont want any vehicles implemented into the game. You lose the fun of taming dinos because then most people will want the car. Also it just doesnt fit into a survival Game

I think the main problem with adding vehicles to the game, especially ground vehicles, is the logistics of it. The island is not exactly full of open plains and flat stretches of beaches to make vehicles even viable as an add in, let alone the building materials that would likely be needed.

You would probably have to clear out vast swathes of beach palms, forest trees and rocks just to ride your vehicle a short ways across a beach or through a forest. There is way too much ground clutter in the game for ground vehicles.

Now things like Hang gliders, wing suits, maybe a primitive air craft, sure, those things I could see if someone wanted to go base jumping or just build a super tall platform, but ground vehicles would be verify difficult to implement, so I don't anticipate them being added any time soon, which is why I think the devs are letting moders have the first crack at it rather than releasing them in an update.

Yea I agree, ARK doesn't have the physics right for vehicles....yet.

By the sounds of things they are simply giving Mods something to work off and test with. Some people want cars and it is likely something that will be modded, so the Devs are giving people a helping hand as well as showing off just what their modding kit can do.

The dev comments about dino armor, buildable platforms, ballista mounted on dinos etc. all give me hope that they have the direction for their game sorted and scoped out. I hope that modern vehicles will just be left to mods and that's it.

I'd much rather have a dino battering ram, a dino mounted catapult, or rockets mounted to my flier's saddles to make them sprint faster etc. than modern vehicles. Give our dinos more technology!
