Water tap Range?

Hi. I was wondering if anyone knows how far away from a water tap a crop field can be placed and still get water from the tap.

I don't have a 'concrete' length, but its roughly 2 foundations/tiles from what I can tell; and it doesn't matter if they are above/below.

I know this is old as, but I’m currently building a 12 Story Greenhouse and that’s what first lead to me finding this as I noticed I had Irrigation on the new floor I’d just built and I hadn’t done the pipes for that level.

I can confirm they’ll Irrigate up to 3 Levels above and below, 3 Foundations Forward/Back/Left/Right and 2 on the Diagonal making a sort of Windmill.

So if you have your Tap in the middle of 4 Foundations it’ll do 3 foundations Forward, right, back and left, then there is no rhyme nor reason beyond that, my test spot is not a shape I can easily describe.
