Not damage they do it's how many of them there are even though they really weak.
Another good reason to bring a dimo with you everywhere you go. My Dimos make a living off killing ants and dragonflies. (always well fed without me needing to feed them) I've also never lost a dimorphodon to ants or dragonflies, even when I only had the 1.
Best way around that is just keep a meat eater with you if you're not at camp, sabers are pretty adept at mauling them plus they pick up the chitin. Good way to snag a little extra chitin, so I can't complain too much.
