[Poll] ELITE T-REX Tameable
So in the next update v193 we have a new trex coming.

* New rare "Elite" T-Rex can be found that is bigger and meaner than the regular T-Rex with distinct color schema, gives a unique cosmetic (and a ton of XP and resources) if you defeat it. It also buffs the resistance and damage of nearby carnos around it due to its alpha-pack status. You can't tame it... yet... but we'd like feedback on whether the community would be interested in more of this direction.

Sounds very interesting and (personally) I'd love to be able to tame one (or more) of these new creatures.

As the title states this is a poll so let me (and everyone else) know what your view is on whether this new beast should be tameable or not.

I will try to keep this up to date as much as I can so you and the devs ;) can see where we are at.

Well as I said I would like it to be tameable.

VOTES -

Tameable - 147
Non-Tamable - 302
Undecided - 10
Server Selects - 113

Edit - Good to see other peoples view on this. Some interesting concepts too, like to have it server side selectable if it can be tamed or not. I'd +1 that.

Edit - Just seen this in the 194 update notes

* Server Admins can now disable Taming on a per-Dino basis via their config

So maybe its in the list.

EDIT -

Ok so from the people that have voted I've to to the following conclusions.

1/ People on official servers don't want them tamable.

2/ Some people would like to be able to tame them on private servers. (server selects)

Well good news for both types.
They aren't tamable on official (yet.. as the devs said. Hopefully it stays that way), but for the people with private servers we have an answer...

I have just tried this out for myself on single player before putting it on my server and I can say that it works quite well. Just a side note for people that do decide to use this on their server, these things are a beast. Admins may need to monitor who has them. They do take alot to take down an they do retain their alpha (high) stats.

non-tameable..makes the hunt more awesome.

I'd say tameable but extremely difficult, only the patient and well prepared will succeed!

Non-Tamable

Tameable, but no special stats compared to other dinos, requires a boat load of time to tame. If it's just a unique colour that can't spawn in the wilderness, that would be great.

if any dev out there sees my post please add the prehistoric dragon in the game. its real and was the size of a t rex, it could breath fire due to grind a mixture of stones. this got me thinking since ark has flint. and this dino can fly but it can only fly if its light. it lived in the creataceous period. just think about it.

just to add to the more carnos coming out

It should be Non-Tamable by default. Servers can then set them to Tamable if they want.

good idea to have special dinos but youll need a counter to those monsters
Non-tamable, itll just become the next top tier dino, should be kept apart asca special challenge

Tameable, but, as FatherDeath said, extremely difficult and time-consuming. And if they are incredibly rare and hard to tame, then hopefully you won't suddenly find that every tribe has one. I would also say that, since they are larger than normal rexes, they should require a behemoth gate to house them.

I Vote yes, BUT it should be the longest tame in the game.

Longer than a Bronto.
Dragonking Aug 3, 2015 @ 9:17pm
at the start of the game when a trex comes not even 2 brantos can kill it try getting a big deadly herbavore.
Tyrannogon Aug 3, 2015 @ 9:17pm
Non-tamable, if you tame one, or more, and get an army of carnivores it might be a bit overpowered by the sounds of it. Or it could be configurable via server settings. But I think I'd like to see it ingame first. I do like the idea of the Alpha Rex though, it sounds awesome as a mini boss.

Non-Tameable, because if it was only high leveled people could tame it and it would be almost impossible to fight againest when being raided.

Non-tamable.
Please update the poll score.
Now:

Tamable - 5
Non-Tamable - 8 <<<
