The amount of meat you get is unrealistic
3300 food has a trike and 1 meat = 40 food that means he has to give 82.5 meat

A Dino's hunger =/= their drop rate????????? Why would you think this?
Admiral Kobi Aug 3, 2015 @ 12:15pm
Furthermore, I don't see the issue with larger dinos having a larger food count. The hunger on most dinos go down very slowly to begin with even if they don't have any food on them. Not sure I understand the problem here.

You do realize that a person could go up to 3 weeks without food eventhough we usually are supposed to intake around 1000-1500 calories a day? Why wouldn't a dino be able to go a long time without food?

taming dinosaurs is unrealistic

I agree. Dino's need to drop meat in proportion to their level and more especially with regards to their actual physical size. It's unrealistic that a dodo has about as much meat as a carbonemys, a dino 20x the size of a dodo, yet a coel which is tiny gets you more meat than either. A phioma gives around 20 meat, but it's not a particularly large animal, yet an animal twice its size like the parasaur only gives around 5 meat. A diphlo is about twice the size of a dodo but gives the amount of meat.

In addition to this, jerky in real life is made from raw meat. Not cooked meat. Most carnivores and even omnivores have a strong preference for jerky over raw meat due to its concentrated flavor and lack of water and that its very easily digestible compared to cooked meat or raw meat. Jerky should be a better way to tame a carnivore, not a worse way.

Ah see this makes sense. If this is what the OP was talking about, I apologize for my previous post.

Talking about how realistic a game is...best trolling ever.

Not really, I believe I speak for most of us when I say that realism is a large part of the Ark experience. The realism breaks up harshly when for instance you're taming a dilo, say you fed it 10 meat and then realize you didn't have enough for a tame; you then hack it up for food it only gives up 1 meat in total. Do the Dino's have a black hole where they send the meat to another dimension? Problems like this would be difficult to code fix, but they account for a large proportion of the game's unrealism.

Realistically, I wouldn't eat something out of anothers stomach. The meat to size ratio i could sorta understand, but it doesn't bother me too much. I would be bothered if I spent half my time trying to get meat just to survive.

Lol I'll give you that it does sound really gross.

i knew my degree would have somewhat relevant fun facts ! Consumers ( us) only retain 10% of energy at each trophic level when we eat.The other 90% is lost as heat and other biological function such as cellular repiration etc.. It would be interesting to see the devs implement a whole ecosystem based on the laws of ecology.

Size does not equal the amount of EDIBLE meat. Sure a turtle is a lot bigger then a dodo, but maybe only small amounts of the turtle are edible.
