Where can I find crystal. I was in a cave but I couldn't mine the glowing ones. Is that correct. Did I miss something or is it not implemented yet ?

Some mountains have crystal on them. Hard to miss when flying over.
The volcano area has a ton of crystal.
And you can't mine the yellow ones, only the white ones.

top of mountains are safer, if you have a bird its worth it. You will need a metal picaxe to farm it too

Then the "spyglass" schematic, should be moved into the higher levels. Because I can't even build a Tranq bow/arrow, not to mention catching a bird. There is no way to get crystal for the lvl 10 spyglass.

ok well maybe you are trying to progress too fast? learn skills, tame build then go for crystal.


creating a bow/ arrows I think its level 15, you need 1 tranq to put down a bird..peace of cake man

Exacly my point.
The spyglass recipe is lvl 10, which needs crystal.
The bow is lvl 15...

There is absolutely no way to get crystal at lvl 10, the recipe needs to be moved to lvl 25 or something...

just skip it done deal, you cant get all engrams otherwise you end up not being able to get the important one,\

Spyglass is useless anyway with the limited sight! if I eg stand on a shore and look at the other side with the spyglass, I do not see any dinosaurs, only when I'm close enough to the other side appear the Dinos

Agreed but my only idea i can think of to circumvent it is goto white / green drops spyglasses are quite regularly in them pre made.

I get what your saying totally. It's not that he wants to progress to fast more that the game gives you an engram you can learn at lvl 10 when theres almost no way to get the required materials to make it. I will agree the spy glass is useless for the most part and you can easily find them in supply crates but really why would something that requires crystal be lvl 10?

I will say you can get a little bit of crystal out of caves pretty easily. I was able to find like one or two spawns in the cave by me (south east) where there was only like one or two bats by it. so you might be able to grab a bit. I had a raptor with me so that was real easy but they went down so quick I think you could manage with a pike and some dilos. Maybe. But still I think the spy glass engram should be later lvl.

There's 2 different kind of crystals white - which CAN be mined, and Green - The ones that you couldn't mind and are just there as a light source.

I suggest if your going to mine crystals mine the caves as it's also a damn good source of obsidian (which are the shiney black colored rocks and also you'll need alot of later on) and also metal (the golden colored rock/boulder formations).

In addition caves are also a great source of chitin

Maybe some % drop rate should be added from mining normal rocks, like it is for metal, so even low level char can craft their spyglass and enjoy it.

about spyglass... Developers must correct dept of detalization while using spyglass cause I can't see distant "temporary" object like a harvesting rocks, my own walls, dangerous creautures, and so on... which located at distance where its not displaying in normal view. Using spyglass I can see only distant panorama objects, but its not so necessary to control situation... IMHO
