For raptors... well... just shoot tranq arrows until it goes down. Try a lower level one if it kills you too fast.
Standing on a rock may sometimes work. But sometimes it won't as it will just glitch on top of it.
Make sure that your carno has enough HP to survive this :)
We tamed at lvl 86 rex this way without any of us dying.
If you want it even easier: Tame a herbivore of your choice (I prefer a turtle or mammoth) and level it only on Health. Set it on passive and search for a raptor you would like.
Now just jump off and hit him every 5-10seconds with a tranq arrow.
Why? A carnivore ALWAYS priorize a herbivore over you ! So even if you hit him nonstop, it won't change the aggro.
Would work with a carno too, but I don't think you can actually stand on them?
I have had a T-Rex turn its attention to me while he was biting at the Bronto's heels. Sooooo, I disagree with you on that. I'm sure others have had the same issue.
This might happen when you get way too close to him.
Wait... how did you get the rex inside? It doesn't fit through a dino gate right?
It does.
