Obelisk Storage
I have been hearing people saying you can store items in the obelisk in bulk like thousands. some say they store there c4 grenades guns and other things so there stash dosn't get found Will this continue? will there be a patch to fix this? I hear people say if server restarts or update/patch happens there stuff gets deleted but those are flukes dosent happen to everyone.

You cannot store guns and grenades, but you can store ammo. Unfortunately C4 is considered ammo so it can be stored inside an obelisk. This is broken and hopefully an oversight by the devs I don't even think they know about it.

i just read a thread some minutes ago, with people complaining that this has been fixed without warning and all their stuff is gone.

I dunno why you would store your stuff in an Obelisk though... Considering they stand out, new people might just go up to them and open up the terminal and see all this stuff in them and go "Ooooh, shiny!"

It might be an oversight, since you need to put stuff into the Obelisk to summon the broodmother, and they might change it at some point so that you can't put anything but the required objects in, if they haven't already.

no we aren't talking about just putting the items in the obelisk terminal. We are talking about uploading said items to the database where it can be downloaded on another server or redownloaded on the same server. People on our server had started using it to store C4 safely.

Obelisk's inventory are unique per player, someone can't access another player's.

It's for cross-server transfers.

Oh. My bad then. I've never used that particular feature, so I didn't know. xP

It's personal, unraidable storage that can be transferred from official server to official server.

I watched a tribe show up (Chinese, not that it matters though) about a week ago to my server, and in about a day they were rocking a full metal base and raiding people with C4. They set up a farm on another server, mass transferred material, and instantly set up here without having to work for it. Equally bad, even if you crush a troll tribe, they can have 10,000 C4 waiting to be tranferred/in storage so you can get griefed.

It's honestly one of the worst features I've seen in a game in terms of balance/troll avoidance, and I'm surprised people aren't raging. Oh well.

I think it's because not many people are aware of it right now, and the chances of losing the items during server updates is fairly high so it is still high risk. I plan on making a forum post once I decide how I want to title/word it. I'll mainly focus on the C4 issue and request it is not allowed to be transferred. Honestly I'm against transferring of raw materials between servers, but I can allow that to slide I suppose. Invincible storage chests for people to house their C4 though? that's BS. Right now we are planning on walling off every obelisk at the same time, then break into the other tribes bases looting everything. They won't be able to download their C4 until they can farm enough explosives to blow open the metal boxes we will have built around the obelisk.

There is the obelisk inventory that you use to craft the necessary item to summon the brood mother and anyone can see items inside that box. There is also an upload option on the top left once your inside the obelisk inventory and that gives you the ability to upload certain items to the server. That is what we are talking about.

We noticed some chinese members transferring stuff over from other servers, one we caught had an inventory full of Chitin, like a couple thousand, so I can confirm what you are saying.

As a result all the transfer points on our server are enclosed in metal boxes with a few spikes for good measure, seems to have stopped them in their tracks so far.
