Dino feeding offline?, who is pulling facts from their asses?
So some people say that you dont need to feed your dinos/pets when they are inactive and others say that you indeed have to...
"Your pets DO NOT need to be fed while you are offline are they are inactive, they only eat when using energy. " - Was pulled from a steam guide called Noobie Taming and Pet Care Guide!

i also have found other people saying that on this discussion board.

like i say some other say that you have to feed them every few days,14 days, 3 weeks, its a complete mess.

Can someone tell me how the game is actually programmed to work, like wtf have any developer spoken about this?

Really hope this game does not become a shore instead of entertainment.

I'll leave it at this, I left a group of tamed dilos, all ranging in level (but over a 1000 health each) outside my home unfed for about 4 days. On the 4th day a friend of mine walked passed them and watched as one flopped over. They had not been given food, they had not moved since their last feeding, and they were set on passive the enitre time. No matter what dino's lose hunger over time, though they lose it at a much slower rate when inactive. Just pay attention to their hunger every once in a while, especially before you have to go offline.
I have dove into the dev-kit and can say this:

Dinos need to eat when they are replenishing stamina or health

You should still keep food in their inventory just in case.
Dinos DO use food when they are not in use, however it is EXTREMELY slow.

The same exact mechanic is in place for humans. Just go sprinting around a bit and you will see that you use food and water extremely quickly, but if you just stand around doing nothing, it goes REALLY slow. (So long as you are not hot/cold)

An idle dino, depending on it's max food, can last anywhere from 2+ days. Some only live a couple, others I have seen live over a week. It all depends on how much they move, take damage, and their max food reserves. Dinos that are used, get into fights, or are rode drain really fast. Those on neutral and passive don't.

However, in 99% of cases, you will be fine 2-3 days.

But I've had a spino who had TONS put into food last 8 days.

Thank you for answering!
Only need to feed them once every 1-2 weeks

Answer by a dev, though I think they need fed a bit more than that...
