They lay them wherever and only lay eggs after leaving stasis. leave the area (far enough away so that the dino's are inactive) for a minute and return and you will see eggs.

I have a stego farm w/ 20 stegos. If I fast travel away for 1 minute and return and i have 3-6 eggs every single time. It's rather silly just way the game is coded at the moment.

This also means that if ANYONE is close to your dino's, you will not get eggs, i have to tell tribe mates to leave the island my farm is on if i want to farm some eggs >_>.

I'm actually getting 5x more eggs from swooping by other's farms when they're offline. This shouldn't be a thing.

Yeah, id love to stay on my island and do things while i wait for eggs instead of having to leave and return, feels pretty cheesy.

Specula, you must just have dodos, those are the only dinos that will lay while you are in the general area.

Eggs often clip through the floor like players do when logged out(And sometimes dinosaurs - I wouldn't risk your design with any larger animal. We had the same thing, got tired of ripping the floor up to free them).

Why not? If they're offline, they won't be there in time to collect the eggs so you might as well take them :)

Oh, I feel zero guilt for doing so. As you point out, better that I get em than they just despawn. I just meant, that it shouldn't be what I HAVE to do to get decent egg counts. I roam sectors of the island ending up w/ 5-15 various eggs and come back to none from my own...well maybe 1 if I'm extremely lucky. If I leave to the same area immediately, I usually end up w/ another ~5.

Be careful swooping by other's bases though, I had a problem with players helping themselves to our crops and fertilizer so we now have 2 turrets up and running in the yard.
