PVP argentavis/pterodacty
So what do you guys think of argentavis and pterodacty in PVP situations? Pretty balanced right. I think so anyway!!

This was when argents were overly OP. Max level argents vs a low level ptera lol

A couple arrows now kills most birds. What more do you actually want? Would you prefer all flying creatures be removed from the game?
ptera - 1 longneck shot to the face
argent - 1-3 longneck shots to the face
They are incredibly easy to kill if you have a few guys with rifles that don't have potato aim

Lets say a level 100 argent fully stacked with health. Only thing you could manage it with is tranq arrows. Hell of a chore considering you have to pull this off before it picks you up.

Got raided today. I was fine with that. I finally knocked out the bird and had a shoot out with 2 of the enemys (which was really fun) problem was...they had killed me a hand full of times before that by picking my up, and dropping me.

Matter of fact. who knows if they would have won at all without the bird's ability. Point being i think toxic machanics like that are taking away from intense moments from the game. Its a lazy way out of a fight. Mounts were one thing, but birds bomb diving you....pretty badddd.

People dont chose to play fair, they will exploit. Max HP argent plus a 50ft fall is GG. if you do parachute they will just rinse and repeat.

I want fire fights, i want my enemys to have to out smart me or overwhelm me with skill. A max lvl argent picking you up and dropping you to your death has got to be the farthest thing from skill, intense, or fun, on either side. Its even sucking the games potential experience from the guy doing it, rather then an intense fight and victory he gets a quick and easy way out.

The only time another player has killed me is with the argent. Im all for starting over i dont mind losing that base as all our important ♥♥♥♥ was hidden in brush in multiple caches. I have a stack of about 100 C4 that i could level the enemys base with. At this point i cant find a reason to continue if the PVP is just going to continue to be pure suck ass garbage lol.

The reason i started playing was because i thought it would be like dayz x 1 million, with level ups, and actual PVE elements...But damn, gonna have to wait for them to work out the Alpha kinks on them birds...what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way to die. Id rather be glich hit by zombies through walls then be killed by an actual player using an even worse fashion.

Have u tried to poke the bird with pike whilst they got u in the air? then parachute down when they drop ya, if they pick ya up again, poke poke poke. Ofc u will ned to hold few parachutes on ya and when u land and they coming on another round, try to face shot em with range weapons, they take allot of dmg from those.

If you're fighting guys with guns the argent is the only way to take them. If you're doing strict arial combat a ptera will snatch you off your argent so fast you won't know wtf happened. I got into a fight with 3 guys before (lucky they didn't have guns) on my ptera and I kept snatching them off the argent and dropping them and leading the argent away. 2 died from repeated drops and running out of chutes and the 3rd gave up. (they were picking up my tribes raptors and scorps and throwing them into the ocean to be eaten by megas "back when megas ran in swarms of like 20") I lead the argent to our base and a friend ate it with the rex. However both become useless vs a tribe with multiple longnecks.

My tribe has since gone to underwater caves and own multiple plesios and dominate the waters of our server so we don't care about flying mounts and ground combat, so I have not tested it since as we completely abandoned the land base and our land dinos. If anyone can extrapolate on the current condition of these 2 and land pvp let me know lol.

What you said is very true. I was thinking about it last night, if you carry 30-50 traq arrows and about 5-10 parachutes then this should counter the argent. Once its knocked out it will stay down for quite some time.

This gives you a chance for a fair fight on the ground. You could always carry 10 grenades and spam them out as soon as the argent is knocked out in hopes of either killing it of wounding the player

I have never visited an underwater cave yet. Are these habitable? Is there oxygen in these caves or are you always fighting time to get back to the waters surface? Ive been considering making caches in underwater locations.
Steel Jacket Jul 25, 2015 @ 11:23am
There are underwater pockets that are decently sized. Most are very very limited in what you can get inside, but there are a few that can hold the big guys (only 1). There's air down there, no need to resurface until you want to.

Nice! Thanks for the info :). Sounds like a very viable option!
