The fabricator has an internal combustion engine in it's current form, burning gasoline (or petrol as we call it here). You'd need a new type of fabriactor for this to make sense, one with an electric motor. That said, at least this is reasonable, unlike the idea of powering a fuel burning grill with electricity.
The industrial grill burns the gasoline to create an open flame, it's basically a flame broiler, NOT an electric grill. Again, you'd need to have a new grill called a contact grill or an electric grill for this to make sense. Otherwise it's kind of like trying to run a gas barbecue by plugging it into the mains. The idea of cooking anything using petrol is quite revolting in all honesty, but given that the game doesn't have methane, ethane, propane or butane, they didn't have a whole lot of choice.
