GET RID OF THE FOG
With one of the recent patches, FOG was included to obscure your view while you're playing. There are HUGE prbolems with this. 1: THE FOG IS TOO INTENSE. It causes VIDEO LAG, especially with lower end cards (NOT EVERYONE HAS A 980TI or TITAN X). 2: It lasts nearly FOREVER once it appears, and appears in unrealistic patterns (You're not going to get fog on a 90F day except in the early morning and maybe late at night with high humidity.)

Anyway, there needs to be a flag to turn it off or lower the intensity.

Yes get rid of the Dinos getting killed all the time.

They just need to get rid of it under water, it shouldn't be penetrating the depths of the ocean the way it does. I was in an underwater cave last night, the entire cave filled to the brim where you couldn't see the floor or an inch in front of you. Couldn't get out, except by proning and guiding myself by the crystals I didn't mine.
I run a GTX 780 and no single framedrop from the fog :/

There are some weird graphical glitches in the fog for me, but I've never noticed a drop in performance. You may want to revisit your video settings and turn some things off.

The fog has been in the game for at least a month. It isn't a new addition, so blaming it on the patch isn't really accurate.

They upped the intensity severely in a recent patch, to the point where at night, you cant see if you are TOUCHING your wall, IN your house, and at DAY, something less than an inch from you is invisible.

The fog isn't very realistic.
Makes water totally opaque, and it's inside buildings.

Do you know which patch it was? I don't see anything in the patch notes relating to fog.

GTX 660m...Fog is a pain in the ass but I understand they added it for realism, doesnt hurt my fps
Fog is supposed to be a pain in the ass. That's the entire point...

No FPS hit here either, however I very much dislike the underwater fog effects.

^This^

The fog in the game is awesome. I really enjoy the weather effects. But fog doesn't penetrate water, it should still be pretty clear underwater, albeit a little darker from the lack of sunlight/moonlight.
It's be nice if they made effects of weather and lighting actually blocked by walls and water. shouldn't see rain when I'm a few hundred meters underwater :P

I don't have the highest end video card (R9 290 isn't bad though) and my CPU is previous gen but still nice enough. I get zero issues from fog. Maybe turn down/off your shadows or other high performance hit video settings you don't really need.

Yep. The fog can be a nuisance but it's awesome to have the variety and challenge of dealing with visibility issues. It never lasts that long. Remain calm - it'll all be ok.
