Parachute durability.
I was thinking that since the parachute takes a moderate amount of resources (albeit not very difficult to acquire), should it have 2 or 3 uses before it is destroyed? IMO 1 use almost makes it not worth the investment.
Thoughts?

yea honestly this would be helpful especially for the last cave on dinosaur island you tend to fall off alot. With out them you will die when you hit the bottom besides that area unless you want a friend to take you up top and drop you so u can glide to the ground parachutes dont have any uses at all except for that cave.

If you give it multiple uses you should have to stand still for 30minutes after each use repackaging it for the next time.

That's barely over a minute game-time, so it seems fair. :-)

I never said game time, but meh, i can still kill you within a minute while you can't defend yourself.

Yeah I was thinking of some cool down timer or something after use. Not sure about 30mins though...

I never said I'd be using, let alone, packing a chute, so good luck. :-P

Takes experts 10-15min to repack their chutes, I wouldn't class any naked survivors as experts though.

I personally wouldn't mind the parachute being a reuseable item that costs more resources to make. Of course it would have a fairly long cooldown of course. That or making them lighter in weight would be nice as well.

Or why not make it usable only if it has full durability, but costs resources to repair.
iow, it cannot be reused directly, it needs to be repaired (the repair time reflects "gathering it up, fold it nicely back etc)

While it is not directly reusable, it costs less than having to make multiple parachutes and weights less too (since you only carry one).

If you don't have to do it immediately then you should have to leave it where it was otherwise you'd be dragging a huge unfolded parachute behind you which would get caught on everything and tear.

well, we could look at it as, grabbing the deployed parachute and roll it up quickly for carrying. But in that form it is unusable (just a bundle of mess).

To use it again, it needs to be checked for faults and repaired, then folded nicely (which takes the time factoring into the "repair" timer?)
