What dinos are best for *blank*
I know of some like
Most herbivores get berries and thatch.
Mammoths;wood
ankylo for minerals
Carnivores for meat and hide.

What's the best dino for transport? despite speed wise what gains the most weight on level up
and what are faster ones that can carry a good amount but are faster.

Fastest speed, most damage, don't what else to think of. I guess I'm mostly looking for a transporter to move lots of resource, dinos to defend them idk

Argent is best mule overall. ( it flies)
Mammoths are best ground mule.
Parasaur is a good early mule

go Bronto or mammoth, bronto hold way more but is slower and fkin huge, also a wee bit annoying, and use 1-2 well leveled carnos for protection, i have a bronto that can carry 3k, anmd 2 4khp 800%+ melee attack carnos for gaurd duty, just go out and cut down half the island and the bring it all home :P

My favourite:

Get a small army of Carno's plus one raptor (leader). Make all carnos follow the raptor. You now got yourself an army of tanks for transport :D
(The speed you move stuff from a to b is insane, you will need stamina on the raptor though.)

Alternatively, you can have only carnos and never have to wonder about stamind, just jump from one carno to the next :P

Trikes are quite good as transport if you let them follow you. Since following dino's do not use up stamina and trikes can run quite fast.

Parasaurs have a decent speed, but more importantly can pretty much run forever without running out of stamina. So at low levels, having some trikes follow you while you lead on the parasaur is a good way to haul stuff around.

At higher levels, Mammoth, high weight, can run quite long on his stamina and quite good speed.

Bronto's are kings of weight, they start out with 900 and depending on your tame can start out even higher and gain between 50 and 100 weight per level up. but they are slow. although less so when following. But be prepared on having an earthquake happen every time you move.

In terms of sheer damage nothing beats a T-rex. But other carnivores can also reach high damage.

Best thing we have found for transport is argent's with 400ish starting wt we have like 7 of them with 6-700+ wt that do nothing but mule. we fill them up and put them on follow and blam easy enough and flies so can go anywhere fast

Can anyone tell me a good dino for harvesting wood or stone? Not like endgame dinos but some simple stuff
Cyligod Jul 19, 2015 @ 3:44pm
Mammoth for wood Get its dmg up to get more wood. Ankylo will get stone But primary's flint like a pick. it does same with tree's it can get wood but gets thatch mostly

I do remember saying ''not endgame dinos'' yet you still say mammoth. Say something commoner even if it's less effective please.

i use mammoth only for wood harvesting, for hauling stuff i use t-rex`s, they have enough health and base damage, beside my main i ride, all other have weight upped, its a undestructable trail :D

I did i also said ankylo that is the only choices really Trike gets almost no wood at all from felling tree's same with a stego. so you are stuck with ankylo which gets a ton of thatch and Very little wood or .. the mammoth. Mammoth really isnt end game at all its normally the 3rd dino i tame. I get saber anky then a mammoth. from there the sky's the limit. If you are worried about protecting it just make your room 5-6 tall and 4x5 foot print.. put the mammoth in and wall it up if you cant make a behe gate.. jsut pop walls to take it in and out that is assuming you are on pvp servers. still though.. Mammoth is the ONLY dino with ability to spefically get wood.. and i mean ONLY

My choices:
Ground Mule: Mammoth
Air Mule: Argentavis
Ground Transport: Sabre tooth (argument can be made for Raptor, longer sprint & faster non-sprint but sabretooth spam jump I think negates this)
Air Transport: Pteranodons
Berries: Stego (argument can be made for Trikes since stego are so slow)
Wood: Mammoth
Chitin: Sabre tooth
Flint/Metal: Ankylo (having a mule w/pickaxe is better for metal, unless you have metal rocks in your immediate vicinity)

Thanks everyone! Currently have 5 Trikes, 2 turtle, a spino, raptor, 4-5 dilos and a parasaur.

So does upping damage make them gather more resources or is that just for mammoths?

Nothing is better than doing it by hand until Mammoth. Don't blame him for giving you the only correct answer.

Upping damage increases the resource yield of any dino.

Carnivores gather more hide/keratin/chitin/meat.
Herbivores farm more berries/wood/thatch/flint/stone

I use mostly just Paras and Piggies for ground transport since Mammoths tend to stuck into each other and Brontos are just way too slow.

And Argents only when I need to carry it over a really large route or over the mountains (or on top - to gather metal, obsidian). Since they are quite a pain in the ass when you ride a dino on the ground and they follow you.

I get around 800 Weight on my paras/piggies and go into Movement Speed then. Fast and carry a lot. If you now get a saber or raptor with you, everything is fine and protected.
