Yes, there was a dossier released for a creature that would collect stones efficiently like a hatchet, unlike the ankylo, which is more like a pickaxe.

I can't wait for the stone dino, collecting stone is so painful in this game right now lol, right behind collecting fiber...

You can easily collect hundreds of stones in minutes just by running up and down the side of a mountain pressing E.

We know about pressing E E E E E but this is still the cancer.

Just bind a macro and have it spam E for you. Bring a dino like a trex to store your stones and then have a tribe member bring an argentavis to transport it back to base.

Even if you get a dino to farm stone for you you will still have to transport it back to your base which is the main issue.

I donno why people want to use dino's for collecting everything. Been using tools myself, I've found while some dino's are fast, I can still collect more resources by hand just taking a little bit more time.

For instance - the mamonth with 451% dam - 1 run using it I collect 600 wood in a area I farm with tools. 1 ingame day using stone tools, I collect 1200 wood in the same area.

haven't trained a ankyo however a stretch of beach I normally mine for stone - 1 ingame day and i've collected 1000-1200 stone just mining with stone axes, metal axes speed it up abit.

The only real benefit that i've found with using dinos to collect resources is berries and meat. trikes, bronto's and elephants work great for that, very fast and collect way more berries then I am able to pick by hand. Sabers when leveled are great at meat collecting - fast stam + high damage make them little killing machines, and can quickly gather tons of meat in no time. (trex work great too). Even a little dilo army can collect meat pretty fast as well, 10 dilo's and you have a little hunting pack that can take down most dinos fast.

My suggestion would be a tool like a rake for picking up loose rocks with a natural multiplier. Have it made out of 5 Keratin/Chitin for the tines, 4 pieces of wood for the handle, two stones for the head piece/weight and 2 flint for shaping all the materials. Give the same durability as Stone tier and make a level 10 or 15 engram.

Remove from game once the appropriate Dino is introduced or leave it in for Primitive play. It's not cheap on purpose compared to the other stone tools, too.

Having to spam E is aids incarnate in any game, be it this, Minecraft, Space Engineers, or any other gather/builder I've played. One of the few complaints I have about the game honestly.

Its faster to run along an area with high stone concentration pressing E then it is to use a hatchet on stone formations.

One cementing paste costs 8 stone. 1 stone fence foundation costs 15. 1 stone wall costs 40. That dino won't come soon enough.

How about giving the two different attack animations of the ankylo a "tool quality", for example the headbutt gives more flint, whereas the tail swing gives more stone?! In any event I´m glad that there will be a dino to collect stone soon.
Eyolis Jul 19, 2015 @ 10:10am
Yea i agree for 2 different attacks on the ankylo

Done properly, Dino's can gather far more then you can by hand. How I do it.

Bring Muscle for protection, I use my Rex cause he can also carry 700. Bring a Bronto, Mammoth, Ankly, and another good truck. The key is that you get the dinos following each other and not you. It prevents the gaggle all stuck together.

First have the Bronty sweep his tail in an area and gather all the berries. Now bring the mammoth in and clear the trees. Because he wont be getting berries you don't need to dump him. Now use the Ankly for Flint and stone, he wont get berries either.

Rinse and repeat, dumping the bronto on occasion. Move stuff to your trucks. I also use my "E Macro" in the area to get extra stone. Stone is the only problem, I do get that by hand.

Doing this, you can gather obscene amounts of wood, flint, thatch, stone and berries in a short period of time.

Fixed it for you, removed stone off the list and put metal ;D

the beach i mine stone at has both :) so If i need a ton, I mine the beach clean of large / small rocks, then when heading back I spam e across the beach picking up all the small rocks heading back the way I came, then head home, usually have several dino's following so I can just pack them up with all the stone.
