Leedsichthys : Giant filter fish. Ride in its mouth like submarine?
Leedsichthys was a 30 ft long filter feeder prehistoric fish. IT only plankton to surivie.

I think this would be a great isdea to have this fish in the game a as submarine where you sit in its mouth which can hold an air-pocket to breath.
The "saddlle" would be a seat in the mouth and include a glass window at the mouth opening to see.

Personally I like this idea better than a Liopleurodonthat secretes special slime so its rider can hold its breath longer.

Change the Liopleurodon so that yo ucollect the slime (like the snail slime) and can eat it to gain a temp increaeed oxygen bar.

Let the Leedsichthys serve as the "submarine"

Thoughts?

Edit: had wrong fish name changed to Leedsichthys

Doesn't matter if it's fiction or not. Frankly with the way we have those things in our arms infection would set in and we would die before we could do any of this. Also we spawn spiders with shark teeth and trex arms, live through multiple stings from giant scorpions, fall from high places without getting too badly hurt, can survive multiple nights in the open with -9 degrees temperatures, can punch out rex's, and can saddle sharks... There are plenty of sillier ideas than this that are already in the game.

As far as the louder people in this topic go, people will complain about everything. The idea is a little farfretched, but props to the OP for creativity! We need ideas like these so that the devs can play off of them to create their own ideas.

Some things that might help it along. If you did make a glass window for the creatures mouth, perhaps the animal would secrete a goo or saliva that could seal the cracks to keep water out and air in.
Or what if the animal closes it's mouth and you're switched to third person view and control the entire creature? Guide it where you want it to go and when you get there it can spit you out.

One would have to worry about water coming through the gills tho. Plus if you seal up the mouth, how will the fish breathe?

JZ734 already beat me to it. :)

OK you got me on the gills. I kept thinking of a whale in my design. Forgot about the gills....

Well if not in the mouth, how about a glass bubble saddle for the backs of sea creatures? air tight for prolonged under water exploration?

"There are already unrealistic things in the game so it's a good idea to implement unrealistic idea Y too" -> Is that logical to anyone except Keyse ?

That's something that could possibly work. I think having it as something you can craft separately and attach to the saddle would work best. But since stuff in the game is at least semi-realistic in some aspects you would have to have a pump attached to it in order to pump out the water once you've opened it. Otherwise it's only good for one use. Or it's just included with it when it's crafted. Maybe I'm making this too complicated.

That would be a much better and good idea ;) Especially in first person view

How would the animal breathe with a airtight glass basically windshield lol?

"While the whale is diving, the air gradually leaks out the lungs and out the blowhole, into the bubbble the driver is sitting in. " This wouldn't work either because a whales' blowhole has to be air-tight, if air can leak out water can get in. Even if air did leak out it would have very little oxygen left in it since whale lungs are almost 100% efficient. Having some kind of pump would make more sense.

Sorry man, but Zim got it right on the first reply.

You really need to stop arguing, your reasonings are not helping you in ANY way.

Hey, I already accepted that the fish wouldnt work due to the gills requiring waterflow.

But, Like I said, I was envisioing whales when I first thought of this.
Every see Pinnocio or read Jona and the Whale...

I thought it would look cool. I dont think it was the worst idea ever posted.

But Putting a glass bubble on top of the creature, how could that be a bad idea?
