Original post, but that forum is pretty dead.

What do you guys think? Have you had issues leaving a Sarco unattended PVE and dying to the lamest of dinos?

@DrizzintahL The way I choose to take care of my animals works for me. If it mirrors real life, so be it. Obviously you're having problems with yours so that pretty much sums it up. Even if it is an imbalance, you adapt and overcome. The devs are doing amazing things; they'll get to it if its a problem.

'Kids'...that's cute. I'm 32. Thanks for making me feel young again, with my apparantly juvenile mindset that helps to keep my animals alive and yours deader than a doornail. GG

sorry mate, you've just got the mindset of a kid, it's hard to tell your actual age. I'm well aware of what the devs are doing, I'm not sure why you'd whiteknight them like I'm attacking them or something. I'm kind of doing the right thing as an alpha tester by reporting an issue most people are having. They've added the wander ranges last patch and this is a part of testing it; and it's not working with the Sarco. So enough with your silly methods of not doing anything at all with your dinos, we get it. Some of us actually want to use our pets for more than fps droppers in pens all day.

I'm not sure why you respond to a bug report with, "Adapt and overcome" this isn't stopping my gameplay, nor hurting it, I'm just reporting an issue that needs to be brought up, and hasn't been touched on by devs yet. Maybe you should go read what alphas are all about. Sitting in your safezone all day doing nothing useful isn't helping the game's production.
My sarco is the terror of the deep, not sure what you are talking about honestly. I have used all the water mounts and nothing compares to a sarco as far as I am concerned.
Have you let it fight on it's own?

Yes. It kills sharks like they were put on the ark just for her sushi eating pleasure
Read the comments and watch the video and maybe even read the post to "get what I'm talking about"

I've yet to see any videos of Sarcos actually scoring kills in the wild. I've witnessed multiple lose to things 1/10th of it's level because it can't hit them.
Maybe you play on a really laggy server? or perhaps you leveled your sarco's stats poorly?
Yeah I'm pretty convinced you didn't actually read either post....
Because lag effects two dino AI interacting with eachother, right? and 3,000 HP and 500 MD vs a level 5 raptor, the raptor should totally win outright, right?

Actually it does. On a laggy server you can stand perfectly still in the middle of 4 raptors and never be hit. Try doing the same thing on single player. ALot of the issues you describe comes from server side lag.
While I'd love to go boot up the old porn machine and get my up/down rates back to the 90s to test your theory, maybe you can provide some evidence instead?

I don't play on dialup so I can't really easily test this. The server I play on pings fine, better then most other games I play, usually 30-70ms. Why would 5 raptors interacting with a player have anything to do with AI v AI? A serverside calculation vs a serverside calculation isn't the same as server vs client. I have no idea where you're getting your reasoning, but I'd love to see a video of that.
I have personally witnessed countless of land predators chew on other wild dinos for minutes, follwing them everywhere without being able to score a single hit to even initiate combat. This is not an issue in single player where lag isnt a factor
The servers arent optimised yet. This isnt a theory. nearly everyone who plays ark knows this. ITs the same issue that causes a mammoth not to be able to hit trees as the server gets closer and closer to a crash. then after the crash works great. Just try single player and see the difference. Trust me you will see a HUGE difference

Not sure what you're getting at exactly, but if lag is effecting two serverside calculations, both entities would be 'lagging' and therefor the raptor (with probably 200 health) would still die hours before the sarco with 3000 health. go check other peoples' replies, a few people have reported this issue with sarcos dying when they shouldn't be. and I have yet to see any evidence of sarcos actually scoring kills when left alone.
Well I will go see if shadow play works with ark after the server reset and set my sarco to kill a shark to satisfy you. In the meantime you try single player and see the difference. What I mean by trying to score a hit. Have you ever seen a raptor (I know we all have on my server and the 4 other servers I have played on) try to attack a steggo only to follow it around being ignored (or another dino). That is becasue the rapror is missing due to miscalculations in the non optimized server.
