Metal Spawning

Ok so in single player I have over 3-5 days mined an entire mini mountain of all the gold streaked rock. It's now been 10 days since that happened and literally one rock has respawned. I can now find barely enough to fix my tools - what's going on with this? I have no structures even remotely near the rock, my base is at the foot of the mountain.
It's also not spawning on a tiny mountain where there were average deposits, this is even further away.

Resources spawn really, really slowly in single player (and trees seem to be never). You can up the respawn rate though, I have mine on 2x.

That's strange. I use default settings on my single player, and I have a small forest and a rock field (flint farm) close to my base that I can clear 2-3 times if I play some hours on a lazy sunday.

Though I do never come to that place inbetween when I do other things. So maybe resources only respawn when there is nobody around in that spot? Maybe try avoid that place for 3 in-game days, you never know.

did you build a shack ontop. Camp fires, foundations and a few other things stop rocks trees an d metal respawning. I made this mistake on the south east island. i farm it for metal with an anklo. I had to move my smelting base off the top as it stoped all the metal spawning.

Nope there's no structures, fires anything up there. The tress respawn within a few gaming days but the metal is practically extinct.
How do I crank up the respawn rate then? I can't recall seeing such a setting on the game options.

Are you sure campfires also prevent resource spawning? Because that sounds ... horrible

Yes they do, just like sleeping bags, standing torches, anything player-made/placed.

I actually kill everything manmade on the PvP server I'm on, it stops all dynamic objects from spawning, even dino's. I know the devs did it for a purpose(so trees/stones/dinos don't spawn in your base) but this is ridiculous.
