Pteranadon + argentavis wont go through dinogate..?
Does anyone else screw around for 2 mins trying to get their argent/ptera in or out a dino gate? Constantly rubber band back, the only way i can ever get through is by jumping off and hoping it walks through.. Real realreal pain, not to mention the time i was inder attack by a sniper on my argent whilst tryig to get into the gate, rediculous.

Hopefully the upcoming ceiling dinogate will remedy that. At the moment the best cure is the behe gate.

Or they could just fix the issue with the current gate and allow my birdies through :/ i have an aviary for my brids atop of my base and theres no way i can put a massiveeeeee behe gate on it lol :p not to mention it would look rediculous heh

We havecan aviary with regular stone dino gste on it, ive never had this problem?

Both go through beautifully for me every time with a stone dino gate.
Make sure that there are no obstructions near the edge of the gate frame.
It was a nightmare at first for me.

Also make sure that if you've got a ceiling in your pen that it's at least 2 levels high, the argent hates low ceilings and will just rubber band the entire time if it's too low.

Its 4 walls high :/ surely thats enough? Its just an open pen with a ceiling and no obstructions, :/ bah. Gonna experiment but im sure this is a bug

The wooden gate I had was harder to open then fly through from my experience. No issues with rubberbanding, but I would get stuck on a gate door from time to time. Replacing with a stone one that seems to be easier to navigate. Just wish I could have installed it with the doors opening inward instead of out now that I think about it.

Neither is working for me, wood nor stone, in nor out, doesnt matter how they are opened. I even just put a gate without walls around it to test.

For best results you need to shoot for 6x6 (or larger) at 6 tiles high (minimum). It needs to be virtually 100% clear of anything else in that space. This has been from my own testing / observations. Good luck.

I would be sure to check that you didnt place your gate with parts of the adjoining wall protruding beyond the gateways frame - this makes the gate opening smaller and you will get the rubberbanding/forced back inside or outside the Aviary when trying to fly in or out.
It doesnt even have to be a large amount of wall that protrudes to cause the issue.

I only have this issue when the server gets laggy and heavy population. I can still get throug though eventually.

Not 100% necessary. I have a base on top of a mountain with an aviary that uses the standard wooden dino gate. It's so high up that I don't have to close the door since no enemies ever spawn or travel that high. The avaiary portion is 5 ceilings wide, 4 walls high and another 5 ceilings deep with a roof. My argent can fly through the wooden dino gate and into the aviary and land with no problems. However I have to fly through the gate straight in order to get in. If I try to come in at an angle or too low/high then I get a bit of rubberbanding before I can get in.

Just keep in mind that server ping time and load has a lot to do with how easy/difficult it is to control flying mounts. On my private server it's not really an issue, public ones are a different story until they get faster hosts, which is what they are working on already.

If you want to get REALLY crazy with your build it IS possible to make an aerial aviary that uses a behemoth gate, either stone or metal. I finally test built one that is completely enclosed and with a stone behemoth gate, but even on a private server spawning in resources it took a couple of hours. Benefits, ALL of my flyers fit inside and no trouble at all entering/exiting/landing. I'm pretty sure it can support even the largest flyers in the game when they come out with no issues.

Pointing my nose down in the ground while manuevering seems to work for me. No issues going in and out. I do always have my pens at least four stories high, though.
