How much more difficult is tek and overseer compared to alpha dragon? Trying to gauge when to risk it after losing first 2 rexs to alpha dragon, Not fussed about the rexs i have back ups just cant bear to think could lose 19 saddles and my yuty the thought of recrafting 2 is bad enough. Also playing single player

We found the Overseer a lot easyer then the Alpha Dragon.

Only hard part is getting down to the Overseer (take your time, lots of things jump out to take you off your mount, use a yuty to fear them out of hiding.)

You will see two gigas on the way down if going for Alpha Overseer, just trick them into the lava and keep going.

End boss is easy, most damage will be done by you with your guns. The dinos are just for the adds and when he switches form. A good healing pig will keep all your dinos alive (unlike the alpha dragon who attack does a % damage)

If sneaky, you could glide all the way to the bottom (have all your dinos in cryoballs)

Do you have single player settings on? It sounds like you do. It's quite unbelievable to see losing 2 rexes only to alpha dragon. Or maybe your rexes are super well bred.

Anyway, either way, with your current setup it should be okay for the grand finale.

• The most difficult thing in the tek cave is not the enemy but the environment. Overseer is a piece of candy even though it can do shapeshifting.
  
• It's doable with rex and yuty only, but I will personally not recommend bring only rexes into the tek cave as their clumsiness with huge turning radius can lead them into lava, weaken your damage output for the boss fight. You need to practice to guide your dino inside the cave. Try to get a mixture of dinos like allo, theri, etc.
  
• Bringing a thyla inside the tek cave to lure creatures into the lava instead of fighting them one by one can greatly reduce difficulty of tek cave.
  
• Bring some spare cryopods to save your creatures inside the lava can also be helpful, however you are not able to release them back.
  
• Bring at least two sets of armor. Each one with heat and cold resistance.
  
• Custom recipe can be helpful as well.

The tek cave is vastly more annoying than hard. on a rex or yuty I don't even think most stuff auto attacked me.

HOWEVER I do not suggest using the rex's roar in the tek cave. I did that once and a jump croc that was inside of the wall dismounted me and I died.

Also don't get too close to the door before opening it, this has killed me because of anti-mesh or whatever.

A tek helmet helps immensely for seeing all the hidden dinos.

Rexes are extremely frustrating. Their large turn radius can EASILY result in them walking off and into lava.

If you decide to fight the giga, you may have some of your tames end up in the lava (But I needed that giga heart gosh darn it.). Some people lure the giga into the lava and let that kill it.

Your tames may get stuck inside walls...

If you don't set your tames up to easily walk into the tek cave your not going to get 20 inside (specially if its rexes). The timer is really short imo.

Also make sure to stuff all your items onto a dino after beating the overseer before you are warped out. Ark ABSOLUTELY ADORES AND LOVES deleting all your characters inventory when you beat a final boss. Its done it to me on the island and on abberation.

rexs are mutated with 55k-60k hp and 1100 to 1500 melee. thinking of dropping 4 of them i maxed 4 yutys to 130k hp and 1500 melee killing rex babies lol. Had 4 on low health on gamma dragon so with % damage thought best head straight for alpha. Could of been better but 1 rex got stuck and 1 just ignored commands and did nothing
