Shared accounts can not play on official servers

So I played a few minutes ago and now I patched to v201.0.
I'm playing the game via family sharing, now I can't join any server where I already have played because it says they don't support account sharing. Are you kidding me? Now I'm not allowed to play the game anymore till I have to buy it myself?

For official servers, yes.

For non-officials, you can family share as much as you want.

Great, why don't you just set this at the beginning that family share isn't allowed and not let us family shared gamers play the game until now and force us to buy the game now, so we can play further?!

No one is forcing you to buy the game, you just can't play on official servers.

I just spent $19.00 at mcdonalds... I cant believe all these tight wads wont buy the damn game for themself. Try not eating out for a few days and you could have 4-5 copies.

It is a GREAT way to battle the RED ARMY and several other groups of hackers/exploiters ... !!! Not i wish i had it for the Unofficial servers i run ...!!!!

This is great, family sharing has been known to be abused by hackers in the past. Thanks devs.

Now any ETA on being able to hear anyone talk over voice chat in Linux? Still waiting on that.

I have to say I've got mixed feelings about this move. I have to say it's great the devs are making positive moves to combat hackers, botters and other types of cheating and I thank them for that, esp considering how many topics created on here are to complain about just that very thing. However the move does seem kinda out of the blue (sudden) and a blanket ban on all shared accounts is pretty harsh, I brought this game for my kid to play and he loved it so much I started playing it myself. Which happens from time to time and isn't normally a problem (esp with disc games) however it looks like it could be a problem for us since I brought the game on my account.

It is kinda pointless to ban a person when he can come back 2 minutes later. Especially for those of us that run servers with high XP rates. A ban is hardly any punishment at all.

Just IP ban them, also there was no point in necroing this thread. You should have made a thread in the feedback forums.

Can you tell me how I can find the IP of a spesific user? I had no idea this was possible. :-)

This may sound harsh but:
This game is fantastic and worth every penny especially due to it going to support one of the only development studios for an EA game that seems to give any of the ****s.
Buy the bleedin' game.
The fact that they even allow family share on the unofficials is something you should be thankful for. I'm no white knight and I only support companies that are supportive and this one has a good track record.
Before family sharing every single person had to buy a game separately.
