Retarded flying pets?

Everytime I land my Pteranodon, and happen to be attacked by something on the ground. My mount (the pteranodon) and another flying pet I have (an Argentavis) starts to fly around in rubberband'ish circles, super fast around my position. Not attacking whatever is attacking me. This happens mostly when I keep the pets on "Neutral" aggressiveness (which makes me have to put it on passive, so it dies whenever something is attacking it). It can also happen if I have the pet on follow while I land it and get off. Once the situation has calmed down, the pets are scattered over a big area. Luckily enough, I've always managed to find my pets, but my friend got stranded in the middle of nowhere, while being attacked by mosquitos as he landed. The mosquitos was killed easily, but the mount was nowhere to be found. Why is this?

pteradon allways on passive. they cant fight or kill anything anyway. you can allways wistle for passive when it happens. ' key by default I guess.

or press J (follow all area of effect). as soon as the threat is gone they come back to you

I think you find its to do with the Auto pathing and the location of you to your pet when your being attacked, each dino has a turning radius when the dino was created, hence why the Trex turns like a Bus, while the Raptor turns like a bike, one would expect the bird to hover attack your foe to protect you but it does not, sadly that maybe part of the make up for that animal, it is annoying that after the attack is dealt with the bird/animal then returns to normal mode, and fly’s off to land a short distance away, which again is relative to the terrain your on at the time, so that distance could be short or quite long, I would think if it’s a flight to fight issue with that particular animal it will eventually be fixed along with other pending fixes, but I don’t know.
But again I may be completely wrong as I don’t Mod or programme in this game.
