Easier way to build bridge over water??
I am trying to build a bridge out into the middle of the ocean. It is getting tedious with the pillars every third ceiling. Is there any method to trick the game so i dont have to build all the way to the ocean floor

I believe Foundations at the bottom of an area will act as a support even if they are not tied together in any way (no pillars nor walls). But I'm not sure if the foundations at the bottom of the ocean and the ceilings on the top are supposed to be perfectly aligned or not.

If you test that out, I would love to hear the results as well.

I will give that a try right now. Didnt think of foundations.

Well i cant test this theory completely because im still building down the slope. So the foundations are obstructed.

You can use foundations ceilings and pillars for the bottom and as long as it is connected at the beach or connected in anyway u can make the ceilings all the way across, no need for pillars to go all the way to sea level. I'll take a screeny of my small bridge to give u an idea.

I would love to see this as well. Want to build an island base, but also be able to get to the mainland with dinos easily.

Im building near dead island where there is a steep slope all the way to the bottem. I cant place foundations on the slope where im building. Any ideas for that? will place ceilings at the lowest point then takeing pillars to the bot work like that?

Someone is also working on a mod that adds Beams, but right now they only work in one direction. its a Wip mod, eliminating the need for pillars or foundations, just build a beam on either side in fill in the middle. When I build my underwater pen it has no foundations and my new cliff dwelling also is all on pillars. Howerver you still need to have atleast 1 pillar at the bottom of where ever you are building and I usually connect them together with another ceiling piece just to keep them lined up.

OK i see what you did there. If you destroy the pillars and celings underneath the structure will it come falling down.

Im not a bid mod person. I like to the play al lthe games vanilla. That does sound like a great idea if it were ever added . Maybe even foundations that floated over the water.
