how to get rare mushroom from crystal.?

whats the best way to get a few of these rare mushrooms. asuming metal pickaxe ? but so far im 0/200+ nodes and its getting a little depressing

Ankylosaurus with high melee damage. You'll also get a lot more crystal and obsidian than a pic too.(bonus!) plus if you're using your anky to hit the mountain bushes you'll get rare flowers too.
