Where to find obsidian?

Does anyone know where to find Obsidian? I googled. You can find it in caves. I did find it there. I drowned while in the water because of lack of stamina. I am currently on a moutain with my t-rex and I have yet to find ANY obsidian at ALL I made it to the peak, found a rare mushroom. But no obsidian. The mountain I am at was at 55,55.

most obsidian on big mountains, best i think is at the red obelisk

Caves (in-land) and on top of mountains. The smooth shiny black rocks

Can you only find Obsidian in Caves, the Volcano and the Red Obelisk mountain? Or can you find Obsidian at other mountains as well? So far I've only found a sufficient amount at the Volcano.

So far the Volcano and the red obelisk mountain I believe are the best places from what I can gather. I'll be checking out all the other places as well. Looks like I'm gonna try to do 5 Large halls, each one a different mountain to see which one gives the most obsidian and becomes my new fav spot.

I like to farm at 55 35. It's steep but well worth it, metal, crystal and obsidian everywhere. It's the sharpest peaked mountain.

Caves, or the north-east moutain and the hills between green and red obby.

Mountain tops and the trails on them are good spots to find them. I collect mine from the large mountain in the center of the map. They are the deep black shiny rocks only. I'd say uncommon.

At the central mountain I have only found obsidian on the western side. havnt found any on the western side

I am AT THE top of the northern most mountain. Tons of Crystals and Metal. No obsidian....
Not one smooth black glossy rock.
