Any reason to have metal foundation vs stone?

I have not been attacked yet but wondering if anyone actually attacks the ground or if there is another benefit to having better foundations

Metal takes C4.

Stone takes strong weapons, and one foundation lost destroys all the walls and ceilings attached to it.

That is incorrect. There are many situations when destroying foundation will not result in walls/ceilings collapse.

@OP: its much easier to blow stone foundation than metal wall and just crawl under the wall into your house. Also as it was mentioned above: alpha predators can break stone stuctures.
