Which structures prevent respawn?
I'm trying to clear a semi-permanent path through a forest, and would like to know what actually prevents regrowth. I don't want to have to drop down foundations all over; that's a total eyesore (not to mention expensive). I tried fence foundations and standing torches, but they don't seem to work. Any help here?

Edit: To clarify, this is a private server; I'm not being a ♥♥♥♥ by blocking resources from other people. (I'm pretty sure trolls don't care that foundations are ugly when they're dropping them on metal deposits)

foundations are the only thing i have seen work consistently, fence foundations can work if you put a LOT of them, i also believe pillars work but they look horrid

As far as I can tell, fence foundations only prevent things spawning directly on top of them. Really wishing there was something better than foundations for this purpose. Nobody else has seen something better?

from what I've seen pillars don't work, at least 3 or 4 patches ago they didn't and I don't remember any patch note saying they would now so I believe it's still the case.

BUt fundations do that's right any kind even fence fundations

Pillars don't prevent resource respawns. Though they "might" block dino- respawns.

Fence foundations seem to prevent resources and dino's from respawning.

Use stone foundations if you want a nice pathway since Thatch/Wood/Metal looks horrid.

pillars just block others from building within range of it, like a foundation, but pillars don't block resource respawn, reason alot of people use pillars to prevent others from building next to their walls.

all structure will block regrowth from colliding with them, but only actual foundation (not the fence one but the real square one), seem to prevent regrowth on a larger area.

right we made a nice path with stone pillars, cut/cop down the tree/rock and place a pillar, made a narrow path through the woods and it turned out looking really nice

Any idea how close to "origin point" you have to place things for the larger rocks? I've heard that they can spawn through things, since the model doesn't really know how big it is.

trial and error on the really big ones but we only ran into that issue wit 1 or 2 rocks (and 1 tree that wouldn't die)

Pillars only work for claiming land, they allow spawns. You will need to use foundations to stop spawns.

pillars are blocking spawns for us just fine
Katieclysm Aug 14, 2015 @ 12:03pm
I think bubbly was misunderstanding how you're using them. We know that pillars don't have a radius of spawn blocking, just colision.

Tatch doesn't prevent any spawning, neither do fences.

they do though
