What stats to upgrade on Anky
Hi folks

Got a high level Anky tamed and I am curious, obviously going to use it purely for mining purposes, what would be THE stat to upgrade and why?

I would say a few health and damage just for some extra protection, and then most of the points into weight so you don't make as many trips

What that guy said. Health so that it can take a beating. Damage so that it can dish out a beating (and harvest more from resources) and weight so that you make less trips when you're out and about mining.

Damage: 500% - that is the cap for getting more resources per hit. (last I read)
Weight - if you are using it to haul the ore as well as harvest.
Movement / Stamina: To get to and from the mine faster
Health - If you don't bring a protector dino to clear the area first or just in case the SHTF.

IMO

What would be the melee dmg to go for as I am under the impression that higher melee dmg yields more stone / metal etc?

500% is the cap for returns on resources. 8bit has the right suggestion, imo. Id put weight over stam, reason being you most likely will want to have your ank follow you on a bird/mammoth with high weight as well as you travel out to the mountain. Since stam isnt used when dinos are on follow, id put weight and hp as the next to level after 500% melee.

500% is NOT the cap.

+1 lol
Isn't it funny how 1 person says 500 is the cap (saw it the other day) and everyone reposts it like it's actually true?
Unless I see it from a dev myself, it's not true.

The confusion comes from people's mis-understanding of the system.

Overdamage return on resources is capped at 5x the return, so people naturally assumed that means 500% returns 5x without actually testing at what melee% you obtain 5x the resources you would normally get in one hit.

How's 10 crystal per node sound? I'd recommend levelling only melee to at least 1750, and getting a cargo train for the weight. My current setup is my high melee anky in front, 8 turtles with 2 mid lvl anky bodyguards in a double column behind me. fill up turtles with only weight. I can easily clear enough metal to fill 2 forges and enough stone to fill a large box on one mountain (without even getting to the top) by myself in an hour. Also, higher damage changes the stone/flint ratio. more dmg == more stone at certain break points.

Sweet, thanks for that

What I do:

Got my Anky at 1000 damage, and now putting some in speed. I have him go out with 2 trikes in tow who are all weight. We head up to an outrageous rock spot and I spend time there hitting rocks and loading up the trikes. Then the 3 of us make our way back. Ive got a 2nd anky but hes nowhere near this first one. At any rate, it makes stone/flint/metal farming nuts. Im actually ditching flint at this point; just too much.

Yep, can agree with above post. Though I stopped at 1000% on our lvl 120 kibble tamed anky. But if you really want a multi tool anky you can bumped his oxygen up to about 800 get his stam to around 1k feed him lazarus chowder and use it for oil also as the same applies. We do maybe one run a week now because of the yields.

I'm having the same issue, I was recently told by my tribe the estimate is now 1300% damage gets you the best return on resources. So we've dumped everything into damage and have a mule follow - but has anyone been able to verify this?
