So if you look in the config files of the game there is an option to change

DinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier=1 (1 being 100% or normal)

Due to the hard code, my answer is no, taming has no effect on dino character food drain.

Yes, tested it last weekend. Taming an ankylo with 0.5 dino food multiplier caused it to lose ~0.5 food/second, we then changed the value mid-taming and using 1 caused it to lose ~1 food/second.
It doesn't influence taming efficiency (because the dino eats just as often), but it doubles the taming duration.

There is already a setting for increasing dino taming speed (and thus reducing taming time required).

I thought he meant after you tame it?

Food drain effects how often a dino eats which in turn effects taming time since a wild dino taming status is effected everytime it eats.

The taming setting effects how much a peice of food effects the taming bar IE x2 taming setting makes cooked prime meat work like prime meat in term of effectiveness.

Yes, if the food drains quicker they will tame quicker but no increase in taming efficiency because they are eating the same number of times. However, if you increase the taming speed they will also tame quicker but with higher taming efficiency because they will eat fewer times before being tamed.

Ok. I appreciate the answers. I was wondering, cause my sister has a dedi server, and we usually only log on once or twice a day. And when we do log in, all of our tamed dinos are outta food. Wasn't for certain the food drain would still apply to taming, but I had a feeling it did. Thanks again guys.

Yeah, if you just want a faster taming, just use the tamingspeed modifier. I'm fairly certain using the dinofooddrain will affect all dinos, so your tamed ones will need food much more frequently... hmm, but that will make them poop more frequently... and if eggs are still tied to pooping... now i have to go home and test :steammocking:

Haha. No, I wanted the tamed dinos to eat less while taming new dinos still took the same amount of time/food. Taming is already at 3, I think. I just don't wanna spend time going to get food for everybody everytime I logged in. That's all.

It's the carnivores... Either the meat spoils before they eat it all...or they just eat it all. Hungry little punks... Don't have much of an issue with the herbivores.
