Industrial Grill

I do NOT like how the industrial grill works. I'm sorry, but NO GRILL would ever use gasoline, and cmon.. OIL, Metal Ingots and Cementing Paste for something that can be made out of stone and something that LOOKS stone.. Make it use WOOD or CHARCOAL (Like a GRILL WOULD), or even Sparkpowder.. (If you cook with gasoline your food will taste like crap in RL). Also, make it droppable in the wild (THATS RIGHT, make it craftable using stuff you can get in the wild and droppable in the wild so you can COOK PRIME as you are taming.)

I don't necessarily object to the crafting ingredients. I do find it odd however, that a Grill that graphically shows wood being used, doesn't actually allow you to use wood.

IMO, the Grill should allow any type of fuel source, better quality fuels just last longer.

A) Placeholder graphic, as has been mentioned multiple times here as well as in ARK Digest 10 >.>
B) Maybe they're using the gasoline to power a magical enchantment on the ever-burning logs that you see in the grill? (sardonic comment since it's more likely to be an electric grill in the finalized model.)

tl;dr the game doesn't let us craft the exact chemical formula for propane, so they used the next closest thing already implemented into the game at the current stage of development: gasoline.

"But muh realism" ... were playing with automatic weapons and dinosaurs...

Also if you care to read the newest Ark Digest they explain that the graphic is only a place holder for the industrial grill.

not to be a ♥♥♥♥, but the US army used gasoline fueled grills during WWII known as the
M-1937 Field Range. It used a clever system to pre-heat and vaporize the gasoline so it would burn cleanly. Even had a steel wool filter to remove a bit of the lead from the gas.

You have no problem being stranded on an island created by aliens and populated with dinosaurs that you tame, control like robots, use as mounts, and effortlessly control (without them needing to be cages to avoid killing you)....

But the way one grill works is a problem?

It's a game. Repeat as many times as necessary until you get it. It's going to be ok. Really.

I think the grill works great - uses lots of mats (motivation to collect), adds another use for gas which is incredibly easy to make from incredibly easy to get materials, cooks tons of meat. It's all around win.

Not to mention, it's just a convenience. Nobody NEEDS a grill. Meat is beyond abundant. Wood is beyond abundant. Make a fire, make many fires, cook meat in fires. Easily have more cooked meat that you can ever consume.

The devs of this game could send hookers and blow out to everybody and somebody would complain that theirs had too big of hooters. Somebody always has to complain.

I think the grill is just fine except that it's butt ugly. There's no way something made primarily of metal would look like that hideous monstrosity.

If we could design our engines to burn gasoline properly as a hot vapor with lots of oxygen and no additives, the exhaust would be only clean carbon dioxide and water vapor, so I have no problem with it using gasoline.

As for cooking prime out in the field, you've got lots of time to kill anyways so man up and build multiple campfires.

Mine has been running on the same single can of gas I put in it hours ago. It cooked all my meat and continues to cook anything I bring back faster than I can make space for it. It will even cook prime meat all at once instead of one at a time in a campfire. I'd say fuel costs may be even low for the job it performs right now.
