Omni lights awsome but could we tone them down a little?
I must say that I really love the new lights. I immediatly built 4 of them and started replacing my old spot lights. I turned them on during the day and they looked pretty good. Then night came and I was met with 4 miniature suns. all the walls were and things in my house were blaring so brightly it was difficult to look at my monitor. I immediatly turned of 2 of the lights which helped only a small amount. In my humble opinion these miniature fusion lamps need to be toned down so that they provide ample light to fill a large room. Maybe even keep their current radius but with much much softer lighting.

Here are day shots, not too bad -

Comeon, I know everyone is pissed about taming but someone has to be a little irritated with these dang things

The lamps are good as they are. (Outdoor)

We need small lamps that replace the torches. The torchlight looks so beautiful. Please a lamp that glows white and is little bright.
(Maybe you replaced the old ones?) ;)

Just tone down the severity of the light and they could be used indoor or outdoor. The spotlamps should have the brightest light with the longest range and should be focused on outdoor lighting. These omni lights should have shorter range, be a bit dimmer but have omni direction with a focus on more indoor type lighting

+1 i hoped the omni lights would be a small light for indoor, now they just kinda make the spotlights useless.

these or spot lights to add lights on a tower to spread light over an area from a high point to the ground bit further away?

and maybe devs should add a function to all lights except torches:
Brightness (so you can set them just the way you want them / need them to be at a spot)

I could go for that. There still needs to be a range and brightness advantage to the spotlights or why ever build them.

spotlights should be for a longer range that would be my choice, but as it stands right now which would be better to place on a tower which is like 20 woodenwalls high? to scatter light across the area?

As it stands the omni light is just as powerful and just as bright as the spot lamp only it casts light in all directions. it costs the same and it would take you 4 spot lamps to get the same amount of light

Just use one omni on each tower. They will light everything around it.
